The adventures which you will experience on your next journey will be affected by when you decide to take your trip, and picking the right time to travel can make the difference between a great vacation and a super awesome fantastic vacation. To make sure that you choose the best time to travel for your next adventure, read these tips below.

Define the Travel Experiences You Want

The best time to travel to your destination will match up with the experiences that you are dreaming of. For example – if you want to explore the beauty of Alaska you might want to book a vacation during the summer, but if you want to go to Alaska for whale watching or to see the Northern Lights you will need to schedule your vacation during the seasons that will offer these experiences. Before you begin planning your trip, jot down a list of why you want to visit a specific location and what you would like to see or experience while you are there.

Consider Off-Season Travel Adventures

Off-season travel adventures can be some of the most rewarding experiences – and traveling to your destination once tourist season has ended can help to save you a bundle on your travel expenses. For example – if you would like to go to Europe, consider a winter vacation – Paris is still thriving during the winter, but it is not nearly as crowded with tourists and the lines to popular destinations such as the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower are a lot shorter; likewise, the Alhambra in Spain is packed with sightseers in the summer time, but in February you will practically have the entire place all to yourself.

Off-season travel always has a few pros and cons (e.g. pros cheaper prices, cons cold temperatures) so you will need to weigh these factors before you schedule your trip – but definitely take a few moments to consider what you might experience during an off-season vacation.

Combine Travel with a Special Occasion

To turn an exciting vacation into a memorable and cherished event, the best time to travel may be during an upcoming special occasion. Consider planning your journey around a birthday or anniversary, or if you have the luxury of enjoying an extended vacation plan your trip around a holiday – celebrate New Year’s Day with a stunning fireworks show over London’s Big Ben, or enjoy a warm Christmas swimming in the Caribbean Sea.
