James River Air Conditioning was established in the Richmond community and was built on an entrepreneurial spirit that provides world- class service with all the warmth, spirit and conviction of a locally owned and operated business. This philosophy has kept us growing since 1967. Our Residential Department specializes in home comfort systems. We service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, furnaces, boilers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners. We service all makes and models of heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, and indoor air quality equipment.Our Commercial Department specializes in commercial comfort systems and building automation systems. Our team of technicians service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, chillers, VAV systems, cooling towers, duct systems, ventilation systems, economizers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners.Both our residential and commercial service departments offer a variety of preventive maintenance plans, from basic maintenance to full coverage including repair parts and labor. We also offer electrical and plumbing services, including wiring, upgrades, water heaters, backflow preventers, and medical gas piping.Our Energy Solutions Group is exploring all practical energy strategies that will make more and more sense for our clients as they seek clean, renewable, safe power that reduces our dependence on foreign oil. We provide home energy audit services and offer practical green solutions including solar, geothermal, and insulation services.

Kirk has been my AC tech for years. Excellent service, polite, on time, and explains what he is doing. In a world that accepts mediocre work, he breaks the mold by doing it right.

Technician was prompt, friendly and explained the status of the equipment clearly. Everything with the service appointment was positive including the amount of time of the appointment. We have been a customer for 18 years and have always had great service and knowledgeable, courteous staff from James River Air.

No one wants to or is properly prepared to replace a heat pump system. With James River Air Conditioning Co. they made an challenging time turn into a great experience from beginning to end. The sales / service representative (Brian) arrived the next day after the first phone call was made to explain our situation. I believe that was on a Thursday. After careful consideration from repair to which system to replace the old units. We had the new units installed the following Monday. Their product had an excellent review and a excellent warranty program (10 years Labor and Parts). The Installation was completed in one day. The Installation professionals (Stan and Gary) took pride in their work. You can see this by seeing their work a first glance. The units, lines, piping, and wiring were installed very neatly. Yes, James River Air Conditioning Co. may not have the cheapest quote, but the quality of work and customer service we received was well worth it! Powhatan home Owner

THE BEST IN TOWN.....BEEN WITH THEM FOR 30 YEARS...
It took two visits in one day to get my furnace back in working order. Dave D installed a new part that seems to have fixed the problem. Both representatives were nice, polite, efficient, etc. I like doing business with your company.

Residential Technician Brian Conner provided excellent customer service. He went over and above in diagnosing and providing a written estimate as well providing the reimbursement paperwork to be sent to VA Power. Thanks James River Air once again!!!!!
I have used James River for 25 years off and on. They have always provided good products and good service. They installed a new hybrid system(heat pump and gas furnace) in September for me and did a great job. They reinstalled an old humidifier on the new equipment. The old humidifier needed major repair, and they recommended general aire. Jack H. and Seth installed both times. Thy answered any questions I had. They let me observe their work. If you need any install work from James River, ask for Jack and Seth. They are efficient, careful, and friendly. You would never know they were here except for the new equipment installed. I feel their James River service is great. They are on time and do what they say they will do.
Awesome service from Jake S. Kind, courteous and a real pleasure to work with. Very rare to come across such a helpful service tech as Jake. Highly recommend requesting Jake for any and all repairs.

Great company. I use for electrical, plumbing, A/C and heating and they do a great job on all.
Your technician, Mark Corey, is a credit to James River Air. He serviced my recently installed system, and explained everything extremely well. He was extremely professional, and a genuinely great guy.
