Savarino, Daniel S, DO
General Info
Brooklyn-born Dr. Daniel Savarino spent much of his childhood in Long Island playing baseball, running around the football field, rooting for his favorite teams and training in multiple martial arts disciplines. He graduated with distinction from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and continued his study of medicine at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Daniel Savarino completed his Family Practice Residency at North Shore University Hospital at Plainview, where he served as Chief Resident in 2007-2008. Dr. Savarino went on to be a physician in the Orthopedic Department at Nassau University Medical Center, one of the most active Level 1 trauma centers on Long Island. During his time there he worked in several orthopedic clinics, including trauma, pediatric, sports and total joint clinic. He was also a member of the trauma team. Dr. Savarino continued to pursue his love of the field by completing a Sports Medicine Fellowship at North Shore University Hospital at Plainview. During his fellowship he worked with 2 NCAA colleges and several local high schools, covering multiple sports from the sidelines and treating injured patients in the training room. He also covered many big events like the NYC Marathon, NYC Triathalon, Long Island Marathon and Golden Gloves Boxing. Before starting Apex Sports and Regenerative Medicine, Dr. Savarino worked in one of the busiest orthopedic and sports medicine practices in New York City. During that same time, he also had extensive training in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and Ultrasound Guided Injections. In his time there he performed well over 10,000 procedures including Tenex, PRP, stem cells and many ultrasound guided injections, making him one of the most experienced practitioners in his specialty. Because Dr. Savarino performs procedures few other physicians in the country perform, people traveled from different parts of America and from different countries to be treated by him.

Provided by Doctor.comDr. Savarino has been such a pleasure to work with -- between my job in the military and being a competitive powerlifter, my body undergoes a lot of daily wear and tear. Not only has Dr. Savarino successfully treated my pain, but he has also offered various alternative treatment options for long term recovery. I'm extremely happy with my treatment and couldn't be happier that I am able to continue doing what I love. I highly recommend him without hesitation.

Provided by Doctor.comAbsolutely amazing!!!!! I came in with right heel pain. Tried everything from 3 cortisone shots, to anti-inflammatory pills, to NSAID gel...nothing worked. Doctor recommended Tenex.
Procedure was painless and quick. The results were immediate. That night I couldn't tell when the numbing medicine wore off, because the pain in my heel was completely gone post Tenex treatment.
I can't recommend Doctor Savarino enough.

Provided by Doctor.comDr. Savarino and his staff are a very warm and competent group of people. They make their patients feel comfortable in every way. I have followed Dr. Savarino from Staten Island where I first was treated by him to his present location in N.J. He is well worth the drive. I actually enjoy seeing him and his staff. He is up to date on all the latest treatments and is willing to talk to his patients about anything that concerns them.

Provided by Doctor.comI have been seeing Dr. Savarino for several years. I started seeing him when he was working in Staten Island. I was having knee pain for several years and he took the bad part of the tendon out and did PRP and I haven't had pain since. He has treated me for several other injuries as well. I recently hurt my hand and found out he had moved to New Jersey. I went to see him and he did an X-ray and saw I had a broken bone. After a few weeks the hand was good as new. Definitely worth the trip from Staten Island to come see him. I wouldn't see anyone else!!
