If you have to see a GI doctor Dr. Thukral is definitely the one to ask for. I always fee respected, listened to, and like my time is valuable too. He is truly a great doctor.
Dr. Thukral is the best. He's responsive, sincere, and no matter how busy he seems, whenever I have an appointment, he gives me all the time I need. He doesn't try to rush me or hurry through our appointment. He will take time to explain things and make sure that I understand everything before I leave the office. He's been instrumental in my experience with ulcerative colitis. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a gastro doc who truly cares about his patients.
I have always had positive experiences at RGA. This appt. was no exception. The staff, nurses and doctor were patient and kind. Dr. Thukral took a lot of time with me and let me ask questions and he answered them in a clear concise manner.

- Chandrashekhar Thukral, M.D., PhD, a board certified Gastroenterologist, joined Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, Ltd in 2007 and currently serves as the President of the organization. Dr. Thukral completed his medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago followed by a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston. He takes care of patients with a wide variety of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. He has a special interest in providing comprehensive care for patients with inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s disease). Dr. Thukral is Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and is involved in teaching medical students and residents. He has served as a faculty mentor for the James Scholar Program for medical students. He has been a past member of the Executive Committee and the Admission Committee at the medical school and is a current member of the Student Promotions Committee. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. He is a fellow of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and has previously served on the Budget and International Committees. He is a founding member of the ASGE Recognized Industry Associate (ARIA) taskforce that is responsible for designing and teaching training programs for industry representatives.
