General Info
A highly trained pain specialist and anesthesiologist, Dr. Burgher received his bachelor’s degree as well as medical degree from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, receiving magna cum laude and AOA honors respectively. He completed his internship, residency in Anesthesiology, and fellowship in Sports Medicine at the prestigious Mayo School of Graduate Education in Rochester, MN. Dr. Burgher’s work experience displays a commitment to providing quality care, research, and problem solving. In conjunction with a couple of non-governmental organizations, he worked to develop a small primary care network in Central America. He also worked as an anesthesiologist at a major hospital in Mexico City, Mexico, and collaborated with Mayo Clinic to develop international educational partnerships. Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Burgher landed in the greater Phoenix area and is affiliated with the North Mountain and Deer Valley locations of John C. Lincoln Hospital, as well as the West Valley Hospital Medical Center. In addition to delivering care and conducting research, Dr. Burgher is something of an adventure sport enthusiast. He enjoys camping, scuba diving, skiing, hiking, and being active with his family.

Dr. Burgher understood and was able to explained to me the symptoms I was unable to describe. The Doctors and staff were all so nice and helpful. One of the most admirable qualities of Dr. Burgher is how approachable he is and his willingness to spend ample time with each patient. In the past, I have felt with other physicians that I was "on the clock" and only had a few moments to spend with them before they moved on to the next billable patient.
With me, Dr. Burgher has taken a least-invasive progression with my treatments as we explore treatments to treating my pain.
Dr. Burgher and his staff are extremely professional and take the time to listen and follow up. He takes the time to explain all the results, asks if I have any questions and ensures I understand before I leave.
Thank you Dr. Burgher!!! Finally a procedure that so far is providing tremendous relief. I'm only two weeks into the process and I already feel so much better than I did when I started. I'm using less medication and able to feel alive again. I'm looking forward to the whole recovery process to see if I can get to a pain-free condition. So far so good!!
There were some surgery center challenges but overall experience was good.
My experience with Dr. Burgher could not have been any better. He was caring, knowledgeable, and boy does he have skills. I had the L.A.N.D. procedure and from day on there was no more leg pain. Two weeks later I feel almost back to the normal I was was prior to my lumbar injury. I would recommend anyone experiencing back issues to see him.
I have been a patient of Dr. Burghers since 2015. He has been an excellent doctor for both myself and my daughter. His PA, Steve Adler is great, as well!
My experience in finding a diagnosis has been a long and frustrating one. I have spent the last 9 years trying PT, Sports Therapy, Chiro, spine surgeons, nerve doctors and pain management. The last year or so has brought on a few spinal injections that did not do anything and my pain management center only to shrug their shoulders and tell me they have tried everything. By complete miracle a new pain center called me and asked me to switch over to them. I saw the NP who also shrugged her shoulders and then invited Dr Burgher to see me and thank god he did. Within 10 mins he knew EXACTLY what it was (since I didn't exhibit the typical symptoms for my ailment)and what he needed to do to help. I knew right there and then I was in good hands. He actually listened to me, I no longer felt crazy. He was there every step of the way with appts and my procedure. I can't recommend him enough. He is amazing and has helped me get my life back. Thank You Dr Burgher!
