We usually go to isaac Newton, but was excited to try something else in the area. I must say I will stick with what I know. When first walked, there were hostess standing around the stand, when finally greeted I asked if we can have a booth, since there was some empty ones. I was told that I can not have that because it was reserved for someone, which is fine, but I was there for over an hour ( Wed) night and no one sat there. We were not give a wine list, Orderd the spinach dip, I so not recommend it, it was full of oil that sat on top of the dip. bread was stale. I ordered the black and blue pizza, there was nothing black or blue about it. it was to have black chicken and blue cheese, there was maybe about 4 chix could not taste the blue cheese and it was mostly full of bacon, no flavor. Service was very slow and not with the food with the return of our drinks and the bill, was not offered dessert I do like the decor but the food and service needs to be worked. Greatly disappointed

Had lunch on Cinco de Mayo, cheerful service, happy hostesses and wait staff. Water glass never empty!! Special Southwest Egg Rolls a delgihtful taste treat. Atmosphere was very inviting on a dreary day. We look forward to returning on a nice evening to eat on the patio. A welcome addition to Newtown.

After reading some reviews, was a bit skeptical but the place looks so nice we had to give it a try. We had a good meal! We sat in the bar area. A bit loud but the tv's are great. Our waiter was awesome . He recommended the black and blue pizza. We loved it! We wished the crust was a little crispier, but that is just our preference. Our drinks and meal came in a reasonably amount of time. We will go back

was just back to the parrot for the second time. The first time the wait was long and they seemed a little unorganized, this time things were much better. We went after work around 4:30, a party of 4. We were waited on in less than 10 min and received appetizers about 15 min after ordering! Potato and crab cakes, both were excellent!! The main meal also arrived about 35 min after ordering. Our waitress was friendly, and the manager also stopped by to see if we were ok. After this time, we will definitely be back

My husband and I stopped in to have dinner on a Friday evening. The hostess that sat us was extremely rude and after sitting for over 10 minutes with no one stopping by our table to even take our drink order we left. We were not impressed with the menu which was typical bar fare with a few Irish items listed. This will not be a restaurant we will attempt to visit again--nothing special.

It's a shame people are so quick to dismiss a restaurant that has not even been open a month and would negatively comment more than once about the same experience. My husband and I dined at the Green Parrot last Wednesday night an had a fabulous experience. Our waitress was friendly and helpful in regards to the menu. While we did have to wait quite a bit for our entrees, our crab cake appetizer came out in no time and was superb. Maybe a few kinks still to work out behind the scenes but overall we had a great experience and will definitely be back.

I come from the industry and have visited the green parrot 3 times since it's opening. I have to say that they have steadily picked up their game. The first time was a mess, but that is expected for a new restaurant. The second time was still so so with service taking quite a while. I figured let me try one more time and i'm glad i did. The shrimp and lobster was incredible and service seems to be getting better. I've read these reviews and dont agree! It's apparent that SOME of us in newtown are just looking to make noise. I heard the same things about many of the restaurants in the area at some point or another. I think these people who believe they are better than everyone else should lighten up. Go back and give them a chance. It's well worth it!

Been there two times now. Both a disaster!! Consistencies were COLD FOOD, DELIVERED LATE. 2nd time it was a full hour before entrees were delivered.

The "Sports Bar" was cool and very busy. They need a wider assortment of sports on th monitors, rather than every TV on the Phils. The restaurant was so-so. Wait staff was good. No bread plates, had to ask, or eat off the table. Then they brought saucers. Food was just "ok"....mostly. Chicken Parm was BURNED, bottom of Pizza, black. The manager made good on the check. Frenc Dip was so-so. Tuna was very good. Chicken Marsala was "ok". To be successful, they will have to get better cooks. Seems to be an issue from the other reviews. Also, sloppy cooks, poorly groomed standing right at the back door smoking is a real turn-off. It's a nice place, although very noisy. I will give it another shot in a few months.

I have eaten there twice once by take out and once in the resturant. The waitress that I orderd on the phone was not friendly and mad that I asked the price and it took her no less than 10 min to get it. when I picked up tht efood they had the order wrong.once they got it right I took it home. The meat was grossly undercooked and not hot due to the wait to get the rest of the order right. Eating in was worse. I had a party of ten and asked how long the wai was. the dining room was wide open and the not patient hostess said we could be seated at 3 different tables. I asked if the tables could be put together and she said no but they could do it on the deck. Our waitress had a giant hickey on her neck, we all got our meals at the same time except one of us whose pizza came out burned and 15 minutes after everyone else. another person got chicken fingers with something green in them and the rest of the food was not good. many other great resturants in town. don't go here

Nice atmosphere but-- ordered salad. There are 2 sizes but that is not on the menu. The first- Caesar salad was made with iceberg lettuce not romaine in a large soup bowl. A small house salad was stuffed in a tiny soup bowl. Grilled Portabella sandwich was neither grilled or even cooked or even warm. No sides are listed on the menu and the waitress thought - maybe the french fries came with the sandwich. No drink request or water was brought to the table and the request for ketchup was ignored. Nice atmosphere if you are going to not eat.

Stopped in for Lunch on Sunday afternoon , Nice looking place , Bartender told us to see the hostess for a table, we then saw the hostess who told us to just sit anywhere we wanted, we then sat between two tables that we already eating.two differnt waitresses checked on thos e tables several times.they never said anything to us or even made eye contact for that matter, after waiting at that table more than 15 minutes , no one tried to speak with us at all. we then got up walked out right past the hostess and one of the waitreses, and no one even blinked. Such a shame the place looks nice but with service like that they won't last, and they were no where near full on sunday. very disapointed....

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, after being told to see the hostess the hostess said "just sit anywhere you want"then after sitting down on at a table in the outside dinning area, we were passed by, by two different waitresses several times as they checked on patrons at tables on either side of us, we sat for just over 15 minutes before opting to walk out, no one ever said a word to us, not even eye contact, ( they were not very busy) this is a shame the facility looks very nice but with no service I fear they will not survive.

Service was ok but food was bad! I ordered the chicken tenders and something green was inside one of them. it didn't look like a vegetable it looked like green meet. No one including the server and manager knew what it was. They took it off the bill and offered me something else but i was to grossed out to eat. Our nephew ordered a pizza that came out 15 min. after the rest of the food (it was burned) and the nachos we got had very little cheese and what cheese was on it was not melted. Its a shame because the atmosphere is real nice but not worth the bad food. If you are just going for drinks you might be ok.

Food was served cold, waiters and bartenders seemed a bit inexperienced. When it gets up and running hopefully it will be better. I like the location and the interior is done up very nicely.

I had dinner on 4/18. There was an hour wait even though half of the restaurant was open, because they could not handle the business. I ordered a beer which took 15 minutes to be served and a salad that took an hour to be served. My salad was missing all key components including dressing, nuts and fruit. They have an open kitchen, which does not serve them well since it looked completely messy and chaotic. Also, the cooks were very loud and used very foul and abrasive language that could be heard in the dining room. Every part of our meal came out piece meal and there was no clear evidence of a manager.
