I just received an offer from WM for a free month off and a "guaranteed" one year price with a 2 year commitment. The catch in the fine print is WM reserves the right to increase the price, despite the "guaranteed" price, if there costs go up for any reason. What kind of deal is that? I give them a guarantee commitment and agree to fines if I break it early and they give me....what?

No customer service at all! You have to call an 800 number every time to get someone. When they transfer you to the local office you get disconnected or go to a survey. They just transferred me to a voice mail where I heard the last word of someones personal voice mail. Not sure if it even was a voice mail. That was the second time I called today to speak to the route manager. I've had to call in 10-15 times in the last 4 months about problems like: leaving trash in the street, leaving trash in my yard, not emptying my trash cans completely, tearing off the lid of the trash can, leaving the cans in the street, hitting my mail box, not coming at all, etc. Without a question in my mind this is the worst service I have ever experienced.

if i could give half a star, i would...they have FEES for everything...there is a $6 gas fee for, of all things, upkeep of their trucks (what do they do with the money i send them for my bill! there is a $3 fee to mail. a bill (stamps are 44 cents) - there is an $8 fee to pay the bill by phone (guess i'm paying their customer service rep for the 5 minutes of her time) - there is a $3 a month late fee and a $35 fee to reactivate service (what? to press a button?) - i wish there was an alternative to Waste Management in my area

Worst garbage service ever. Forgot pickups, did bare minimum, refused to pickup cardboard boxes. Then they lost our payment, and one Monday our garbage cans disappeared. The canceled our service and claim they never got the payment, despite me having Wells Fargo bill pay, and it shows clearly they were paid. Seriously, stay away from this company, use somebody else. Giant companies like this need to know that if they walk all over the little guy that there will be consequences. I like in Kasson, MN, and Waste Management is a horrible, lazy company.

Dumps trash in yard. Leaves trash by street. Leaves cans in street. Called to complain 10 times. NO results, NO improvements. Cans damaged. Damaged mailbox and denied responsibility. Routinely leaves trash in can. The only positive I can think of is that they show up at least 95% of the time, if that is a positive. When I called to complain customer service treats me as a nuisance rather than an opportunity to save a customer. I am a business owner and if I gave this level of service I would be out of business within a year. So if you have investments in Waste Management: Sell, Sell, Sell

Please pick my garbage up at : John C. Shaffer RT4 BOX 126 Fairmont WV.I was missed on Dec.29 09 my regular pick up day .I was the only one missed on Shady Lane.I called Tue. Wed. Thu.and was told I was on the missed list The person that answered the phone said it was to icy to drive on Shady Lane.B.S. My next pick up day is Jan.5 2010 Please pick it up. I pay my bill every 3 months andI am paid up to Feb 2010 Thank You for your time.

Waste Management has a monopoly in my area and they take full advantage of price gouging. They raised their rates without advising customers and reduced recycling pickup from every week to every other week without warning. They offer only large 64 gal containers in my neighborhood, then charge more for the larger container service.

Worst trash service we have ever had. Their prices are high, the driver turns onto our road and turfs our lawn once even knocking into our stone wall knocking it over and denies it. We actually saw the driver do it. They have picked up our tote container at least twice on trash day and drove away with it leaving us with nothing. No phone call received about this, I the customer has to call asking where our trash can is. Oh we can drop one by next Wed only thats not good enough since we have nothing to put our trash out in on Tuesday evening. Horrible service and I would not recommend them to ANYONE.

With all the negativity running rampant on these reviews, I thought I would give my two cents. I have had WM for almost 9 yrs in Grand Junction, CO. I understand that the prices are a bit high, but I have only had one problem in 9 yrs (a broken toter that had to be replaced, and it took a few more phone calls than it should have to resolve the problem) but I have never had the problems with trash being left, even when I leave stuff outside the can that won't fit. I appreciate what they do because it is a thankless job that people would rather complain about when something goes wrong then compliment when it goes right. My trash guys are always on time (within a half hr every week, which is impressive) and even my recycle guys pick up when they said they would. So, with that being said I just want to say thank you to the guys in the Grand Junction office that have continually set the standard for the rest of the company to emulate, congrats and keep up the good work.

By far the worse service we've ever had. Every Tuesday they come to pick up in our Subdivision. Every Tuesday I see all the littered trash they leave behind on the way back from taking my son to school. I watch them empty my trast and if something falls or blows away, they leave it. I've called MULTIPLE times to have them come back to finish the job. We pay with bill pay. If our payment is off by $3, they won't come to pick up. They will supposedly send an automated call out, which our phone will not pick up. What happen to good ol' person to person customer service. It is unprofessional and rude to cut my service off for a bill pay payment that wasn't on the penny. Just pick up the phone and call me.With money being what it is, I would rather pay more for a company that truly cares about customer satisfaction.

WM is nation wide, millions of customers; of course there will be some customers who aren't happy. I am a former employee both in the field and office. People overstuff the bins. The truck and or drivers can't dump those, so then the trash ends up on the streets, causing complaints. But if the driver doesn't pick up that causes complaints too. Have you ever tried to pick up an overfilled container? In order to stay on top of the scheduled pick ups, capacity & placement specifics are neccessary because if they pick up late the office gets tons of calls asking where the driver is. Also WM is charged for disposal of oil, & other material so they have to charge cust for that service. In summary, unless someone has actually been a garbage driver you will never know the digustingly dirty thankless job they do. AND NO they don't make the $$$ like people think they do. BTW they also deal with crazy people on the road; people putting their toters out late, then calling for a missed pickup etc.

If you want a trash removal serivce that raises it's quarterly fee an average of $1 to $4 every single billing cycle then Waste Management is right for you. There's got to be a cheaper company.

Called WM about service in clarence,ny. Was on hold for 15 Min. Customer service Rep. acted like she was doing me a big favor to take my call, and was somewhat rude.Quoted me a price of $185 more per yr. than I now pay. After reading these other reviews, I woudn't recommened this co.

I recently looked at my service agreement from Waste Management. To my surprise i must contact them by certified mail no less than 90 days or more than 180 days of the last day of agreement. Failure to do so rolls agreement over for addition 36 months. Next time i will read the fine print. If this is how they keep customer. Thanks but no Thanks

Small business in Atlanta, Georgia - we have watched our monthly billing increase every month, to now the tune of $235/mo for a 4 yard container. I called this week to get a quote from Dream Sanitation. Dream Sanitation quoted us $90/mo for a 6 yard container. Waste Mgmt service is terrible, their customer service is lacking, and now I find out I have been overcharged by $5,000 over the course of the past 3 years. If anyone knows what recourse I have please post it. This is ridiculous!

They have a real problem with their bookkeeping, which causes all sorts of mix ups and failure to pick up trash, etc. Every 4 months there is one more issue with their auto withdrawls that means they cut off service and we are required to pay a reactivation fee.What a headache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Use someone else! Spare yourself the trouble! Nobody wants garbage overflowing because of repeated, ignorant mistakes on the part of their trash company. Life is hard enough without overflowing trash for an extra week!Plus they are pricey!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a good one for you - we cancelled our service and were told there would be a $25.00 cancellation fee to come and pick up their can. Huh? I can never cancel your service without paying a fee? Oh, it's to refurbish the can and to restock it. Well, try this, you can have your can back when you waive the fee. I'm sure I have SOME kind of junk in my garage that I can use the can as a storoage bin for.

How do I show a negative star? You think starting or transfering service is tough, try to discontinue service! If you call to discontinue, you're put on hold, hold, hold...........How many different conserve messages can you stand to listen to?
