The motel manager, Tom, was terrific. We were without power and needed a place to be with our small dogs. He was very helpful--we were able to check in early and stay an extra hour to make sure our power was on. Great free breakfast in the AM. Room was neat, spacious and clean. Kitchenette and plenty of room to spread.

Stopped here on our move down south with our dog. Very pet friendly. Rooms had small kitchenette but bring your own utensils. The man at the front desk was very nice and helpful! Even gave us some sweets for the road.

I will definitely return to Red Roof Inn & Suites for my next stay in Guilford, CT. It was close to I-95 which made it easy to find. The area was quiet and they offer an included continental breakfast of toast, bagels, breakfast pastries, multiple types of cereals, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee and tea. My parents and I stayed in two different rooms ... both were immaculate. There was also a kitchen area with a sink, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. There is also free wifi and a nice television in the room. The gentleman running the Inn was courteous and professional.

We travel with our dog and called another accommodation and were told the room would be $149 + $75 extra for our 20 pound dog. We got the room for $100 (senior rate) with no extra charge for our dog. There is no carpet and i think that is a plus. We liked the two couches and the large kitchen that was not needed by us but could be very useful for a longer stay. You would have to bring your own cooking utensils and table ware. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The place is not glamorous but was quiet and the staff friendly. The breakfast was adequate but not elaborate (cereal, breads, pastries, hard boiled eggs, french toast, juice and coffee) no bacon and eggs here. The grounds were well kept. The first floor was a plus as there were only stairs to the second floor.

Our experience was excellent in all areas. We had to stay for a week due to the death of my mother and although it snowed a lot while there, the parking lot and walkways were always plowed and shoveled. The rooms were amazingly large so that it didn't feel like a typical hotel but sort of like a resort rental. Shower worked great and the housekeeper maintained our towels and room cleaned. Our room was right across fro a wooded area so our dog could run freely. The office representative Tom, I beleive is his name, had the greatest personality and always had a smile on his face. He made our experience Excellent! When I shared that my mom had passed, he shared his experience when his mom passed, which really made me feel at ease and comfortable. Also, Tom made sure the items in the Continental breakfast were always available. He constantly walked in and kept French Toast available (my favorite) :) My husband whom is usually very picky and hates hotels, enjoyed it so much he wants to go back. On the downside, after that experience we were disappointed with the other Red Roof Inn we stayed in. It would be great if all red roofs would maintain their rooms, commodities and reps to the same high standards as the experience we had in Guilford. Thank you. The only thing I truly didn't like was the stove, because it looked poorly maintained so we didn't use it

We were traveling in the northeast visiting relatives and needed a comfortable place to stay that was close to Madison, CT. We also travel with a large lab, Mollie. We discovered this gem that is great for us. In talking with the very helpful manager, Tom Shabbir, I found that they had to redo some renovations due the harsh winter last season. The room we have has a large king bed, wood laminate floors, and tile in kitchen and bath. Great internet access and a wonderful field (in back away from road) for our dog to run. They provide a more than adequate breakfast. Great service and great value for the money.

My husband & I were visiting his mother in the area on May 8th. We only stayed one night but I have to say the room was very clean. Tom, the manager was helpful and the grounds were kept up very nicely. While simple, the motel offered a comfortable bed and a nice shower with good water pressure. They even have breakfast in the morning though we didn't partake so I cannot comment on the quality.

I had made our reservation for May 17th but because of ongoing car problems had to change the date 3 times. The gentleman I spoke to was very accommodating. When we finally arrived 3 days later at 11:00pm he was very nice.

I drove past the first time not realizing it was a motel. Small and beautiful and feels like a place to stay for a week! We were welcomed warmly, and made to feel at home. The grounds are beautiful and the whole atmosphere is that of a small boutique motel or a beach house! WE WILL be back! Everything was clean and neat! And for sure, order take out from the local Chinese place First Garden! Wonderful food, large portions and nice delivery guy!

We booked a block of rooms for our out of town wedding guests. Tom was great to work with; he let us look at a few rooms and we were quite pleased with how everything looked. Everyone was pleased with the arrangements. It is close to many of the wedding venues in the area. Most of our guests ended up checking in late and Tom was very accommodating; he made sure that everyone received the gift bags that we dropped off. We recommend this spot when looking to book rooms for events.

I went to Guilford to spend Thanksgiving with my family. There were many of us and I got to stay with my son at this hotel. The room was large, we had two cozy sofas and the bathroom was very clean. Breakfast is complementary, with cereal, bagels, muffins, hard boiled eggs and cold and hot beverages. It was a wonderful stay!

I love economical hotels I can count on when it is likely I will return to the area -- Red Roof Inn is one such brand!Because my kids are older now, Red Roof PLUS+ & Suites offers the extra space to not feel cramped and to not have to spend on an adjoining room. Having a kitchen with a sink was especially helpful for our particular 2-night stay with necessary food preparation for a family event. All of the staff are calm and reserved, and they attend to their duties and guests' needs quickly and efficiently. In response to their survey, I made a suggestion and they responded within a couple of hours, that's how attentive they are!No hotel can be perfect 100% of the time. Trivial issues were easily resolved (needed extra towels/sheet). In fact, the Front Desk was so pleasant that it was actually delightful having the extra conversational exchange.I was truly grateful I found this Red Roof PLUS+ & Suites because the reviews at comparable hotels in the area were so horrendous I actually considered staying in some other town/state instead.NOTE: Red Roof Inn allows small pets, and because I am allergic to cats, I believe a previous guest had had a cat in our room. Nevertheless, I am a huge fan of Red Roof Inn and of animal lovers, so this is not a deal breaker. Put it this way, in their email response to my survey comments, the hotel apologized profusely and I thought it seemed extreme over needing extra towels/sheet -- it was only in writing this review now that I suddenly remember mentioning a possible cat! I certainly don't mind suffering a little bit as it is much more important to me to feel reassured that guests who have to travel with pets can find a safe and comfortable place to stay.IMPORTANT: By the way, the mattress was SO COMFORTABLY RESTFUL!!!

The staff are very helpful and friendly and the rooms, large, clean and well appointed. We had nice linens too. Breakfast was fine - muffins, bagels pastries, toast, hard boiled eggs, juices cereals etc. Very good price point. We have stayed in too many Red Roof hotels to mention and this one definitely ranks as one of the best ones we've stayed in. We have stayed twice and we will stay again. Wooden floors are far cleaner than carpets - just get a room on the top floor if you are a light sleeper.

The hotel we very nice and I would stay there again. Very clean and all hardwood floors. I really liked the manager, he always made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. One of the best hotel managers I have ever had to deal with. I was traveling with my infant son at the time and this hotel was the perfect choice for us! :)
