- Dental CareAt Village Veterinary, Inc. we maintain a full in house pharmacy and can provide your pet with most of the commonly prescribed prescription medications. In addition, we stock a wide variety of prescription foods and nonprescription nutraceuticals, shampoos, flea and tick products, grooming aids, and dental care products. The following lists some of our more popular brands and products.
- VaccinationYou should know we aren’t the cheapest around (you get what you pay for), we will be your pet’s advocate (since he/she can’t talk), we believe an early and correct diagnosis is the best insurance for your pet’s longevity, and we will use whatever treatment options it takes to ensure your pet’s quality of life. We are opposed to over vaccination, and we offer dietary and natural alternatives to medication whenever possible. We will never give up if there is a chance your pet can recover fully, but we will advise you if your pet is suffering and can’t be expected to overcome his/her disease.
- Comprehensive ExaminationVOM finds and reduces ALL neuronal subluxations. This is important, since physical examination may not demonstrate all affected areas. For example, a dog with a cervical lesion may be acutely painful in the neck on physical exam, yet show no pain in the lower back, the area that is the source of the cervical lesion in some cases. The severe neck pain in this situation masks the less severe pain in the lower back. If this area is left untreated the problem will recur repeatedly. VOM treats the entire spine, finding and reducing all areas, enabling a complete and lasting cure.VOM demonstrates a pathological reflex or “read” as the accelerometer is passed over an affected area of the spinal cord. This is seen visually as a twitch or tremor as the affected areas are treated. This reflex is either present or not, providing an objective means to determine the presence and reduction of neuronal subluxation.
- Parasites Treatment and Control
- Pain ManagementThe veterinarian will do a “diagnostic pass” which consists of running the accelerometer down the animal’s spine to identify pathological reads indicative of subluxations. If subluxations are found and correspond to the clinical disease presentation, a course of VOM will be recommended. Other tests or procedures may also be recommended, depending on the the diagnostic pass results. A second VOM pass (therapeutic pass) will be made and changes to the reading pattern will be noted. A third VOM pass will be made and evaluated. Most if not all of the reads will be reduced at this point. Anti-inflammatories and/or pain medication will be dispensed to provide pain relief for the next few days. As with most manipulation techniques (chiropractic, acupuncture, deep massage therapy, cupping) lactic acid is released and soreness can occur as the body adjusts and heals.
- Skin Condition and Allergy TreatmentDo you offer boarding or grooming? Due to limited space in our kennel, we do not board dogs. We will occasionally board cats needing medication or treatment, which a routine kennel could not handle. We do not have a groomer on premises. We will groom cats needing sedation or special handling, which a groomer could not provide. We also perform medicated baths and dips for skin conditions in both dogs and cats. We are happy to provide kennel and groomer recommendations for routine care.
- Parvovirus Infection TreatmentLaboratory testing: CBC, serum chemistries, heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichiosis, FELV/FIV, fecal exams, urinalysis, urine protein: creatinine, cytology, fungal skin test, ACT (blood clotting), vaccine titer testing for distemper and parvovirus
- Thyroid Disease Treatment
- Heart Disease Treatment
- Kidney Disease TreatmentAcupuncture is not effective for everything, just as antibiotics don’t cure everything. Diseases in which acupuncture is particularly helpful include arthritis, nerve damage or paralysis, kidney disease, seizures, bloat, and certain organ diseases. Acupuncture is holistic therapy, addressing the individual as a whole, identifying inherent weaknesses that predispose to certain symptoms and conditions. Treatment can be aimed at multiple conditions affecting a particular individual, since it strengthens the entire body, resulting in a healthier individual with a decreased tendency to become ill.
