Yakima Parks and Recreation offers a range of recreational and entertainment opportunities for children, adults and senior citizens. Its professional staff members offer a variety of leisure programs and activities. The department conducts swimming lessons that include diving, backstroke, and front and back floating techniques. It also rents swimming pools for family reunions, team celebrations and birthday parties. The department conducts stretching, posture and breathing classes. It organizes junior leagues and hosts various golf tournaments. It organizes camps for youths in grades six through eight.
