I live in Seattle and neer miss a chance to eat at Miner's when I go east- awesome burgers!

Stopped in here for lunch today. It seemed pretty packed so I figures the food had to be good. Frankly, I'm slightly disappointed. They have a varied menu with lots of things to choose from, so I ordered a double Bacon cheeseburger and fries. Well, the portions were large, but for my $12 I expected they would be big. Really though, it wasn't very good. The burger had zero flavor, the Bacon was not crisp, and the cheese didnt even melt. My husband on the other hand ordered an $8 salmon burger wih teriyaki sauce and thought it was very good. So I'd be willing to give the place another try in the future just to try to figure out why its so popular.

The fact that they're open late is nice, but I'm still trying to figure out why this place is such a big deal in the Yakima-area. Yes, the portions are large and ingredients fresh, but the prices definitely reflect that. A full meal (burger, fries, drink) will run you about $12-14, which is a little crazy. Meanwhile, I haven't tried everything on the menu, but the ONLY thing I actually like is the Big Bacon Bleu burger. I've tried the chicken burger, chicken strips, taco salad, etc., and was disappointed by all of it. Not only that, but I've never been to Miner's without having to wait a REALLY long time for my food. One day, I sat in the lobby for almost 30 minutes, waiting for my food--which was just a burger. I haven't been back since then. Still, I guess it's worth visiting, since the place has been around for so long, but in all honesty, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
