The Yadkin County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement and crime prevention services. The office operates a detention center that houses more than 950 inmates. It has operations and crime prevention divisions. Its operations division operates patrol, criminal investigations and judicial services units. The Yadkin County Sheriff's Office intervenes in cases of theft, robbery, burglary, sexual assault, serious crime and narcotics trafficking. The office responds to emergency and nonemergency calls for service. It conducts investigations, gathers evidence, and interviews suspects, victims and witnesses. In addition, it offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program. The office also organizes several safety-related training programs for the general public. The Yadkin County Sheriff's Office is headquartered in Yadkinville, N.C.
