- GlaucomaGlaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve. The optic nerve is made up of many nerve fibers and carries the images we see to the brain. When damage to the optic nerve occurs, blind spots develop. These blind spots usually go undetected until the optic nerve has significant damage. Blindness results when the entire optic nerve is destroyed.
- OphthalmologyDr. Cameron is a native Floridian and a graduate from North Fort Myers high school in Lee County. Dr. Cameron achieved her bachelor of science degree from Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina and earned her doctorate in Optometry at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale Florida in 2013. She then completed an ocular disease residency at Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Cameron joined the University of Florida Department of Ophthalmology in 2014 as clinical faculty. During her 7 years at the University of Florida, Dr. Cameron obtainable extensive experience in ocular disease and low vision management. She obtained her fellowship through the Academy of Optometry in 2017. She has given numerous lectures on ocular disease and low vision treatment and has been a faculty instructor to various pre-optometry students and ophthalmology residents during her time at the University of Florida.
- Macular DegenerationMacular degeneration is the most common cause of irreversible loss of central vision for senior citizens. The macula is located in the center of the retina, the micro-thin membrane that lines three-fourths of the back inside of the eye. Any damage to the macula will result in some loss or even total loss of the individual's powers of central vision.

- Eyelid SurgeryBlepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is generally done using local anesthetic. You may be given a mild sedative to help you relax. The length of the procedure depends on the amount of tissue being removed and up to several hours.
- BlepharoplastyEven with a good night's sleep, loose skin your over eyes or excess fatty tissue under your eyes can make you look tired, sad or older than you really are. Fatty deposits cause the upper lids to sag while under the eye the tissue can bulge forward and become discolored. In severe cases, vision can become partially blocked.
