Run away as fast as you can. if you have a loved one who joins, have them deprogrammed as quick as you can. Your loved one may stop drinking, but none of their other issues will ever be addressed. you can expect that they will become a wild eyed lemming and spout the cliché's and dogma of the drunken womanizer Bill W. You can expect that the life you knew will be destroyed by this cult. Have them get real treatment for their alcoholism, get the proper counseling from someone who is not an AA alum.
BY ALL MEANS, if you love them you will help them to get away from this dangerous cult.
Unfortunately, it appears the 2 people below me prefer to live with a drunk than see their love ones recover. I have been sober 20 plus years with the help and love from AA. I do not live for AA, but AA helps me to live. There is a difference. We don't get sober by repeating cliche's but by living the principles of the 12 steps. I hope you find help for your loved ones.
Could not agree more. My spouse has become a disciple of this group. Bill w. Is his messiah and the big book is his bible. His sponsor is a meddling old fool who pried into his life and makes it a mockery. God spare us these demons.
