The Winooski Housing Authority operates five public housing sites that include more than 230 housing units. It owns and manages rental housing units for families and senior citizens through a contract with the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The authority s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program provides monthly rental subsidies that assist eligible tenants living in privately owned housing. It administers more than 320 vouchers. The Winooski Housing Authority owns and manages Spring Gardens, which is a more than 50-unit housing development for senior citizens. It also offers management and other support services.
