Water Street Financial was founded by Chris Cotterell and Ryan Oates on January 1, 2016. Prior to its formation, Chris and Ryan worked in the investment division of First Bank also known as First Financial Advisors from 2008 until the formation of Water Street Financial. During their time at First Bank, Chris and Ryan built the business segments of high-net-worth individuals, corporate retirement plans and institutional/endowment accounts. In October of 2015, they agreed to terms with First Bank to purchase the investment division and separate on amicable terms. Chris and Ryan started Water Street Financial to create a personalized client experience and help people throughout their life journey.
