Nancy Shepherd House Inn
General Info
The Nancy Shepherd House is an interesting, authentic historic inn for overnight lodging accommodations in downtown Winchester Virginia’s Old Town historic district. It was built in about 1772 at what was the south end of town, now 618 South Loudoun Street, just four blocks south of the Old Town pedestrian mall. The Nancy Shepherd House Inn was a Winchester Virginia tavern and inn from 1798 until the end of the Civil War. After the war, it was an apartment building for 122 years. It’s current owner bought the old inn in a state of ruin in 1987 and commenced on a restoration project to bring it back for service as an inn and bed and breakfast. When the project was completed, it became a licensed hotel and B&B. Since it is right in Old Town Winchester, with great restaurants all around, this inn no longer serves breakfast. But there are refrigerators and Keurig coffee machines in each room. Private baths bathrooms are across the hall. Strong WiFi. 14 inch memory foam queen beds. The Nancy Shepherd House is an interesting, authentic historic inn for overnight lodging accommodations in downtown Winchester Virginia’s Old Town historic district.
