- FlooringCircular LED fixtures dress the center of the lobby and match the rest of the rounded edges of the space. All the lighting compliments the gorgeous natural light coming from the bay windows that look out to the Arnold Arboretum and Boston skyline. The floral artwork gives a flourishing, feminine feel to each room with a special highlight at the end of the Sagoff Suite main hallway: a LED floral print illuminating the entire wall. Other finishes such as an acoustical tile ceiling, gypsum board walls, and resilient sheet flooring were installed as well. “Our entire team including the Wise carpenters and laborers did an exceptional job completing this project that entailed high-end quality overall,” says our VP of Healthcare.

- New ConstructionAs a mid-sized firm, we pack a powerful punch and tackle the area’s most challenging renovation and conversion projects. Offering in-house capabilities equivalent to what would be expected at a large firm, our clients receive leading-edge planning and construction services. We deliver at the highest level with personality, flexibility, and attention to your needs.
- DemolitionAmidst the renovation, we encountered an unforeseen challenge that added a layer of complexity to our project—hidden steel columns encased in concrete, discovered during the demolition of the wall connecting the main EOS room and the consultation room. Our on-site team, led by Superintendent Ken Flynn, adapted to the situation, and collaborated seamlessly with a fellow general contractor and structural engineers to design a solution, ensuring structural integrity while accommodating the space requirements. To make sure the project’s schedule stayed on-track, Ken kept all possible construction moving while leaving space open for a new beam to be installed.
- Landscape LightingThe transformed roof terrace now boasts outdoor lighting, premium furnishings, planters, and a fully equipped catering infrastructure, complemented by a new drainage system. This project reflects our dedication to blending functionality, safety, and aesthetics, in alignment with the needs of our client. At every phase of the job, at every turning point or potential inflection point where we could have lost the schedule, we were able to step up to the challenge and deliver the project exactly when they needed it.
- CarpentryI started off doing carpentry but have a bit of experience and knowledge in just about every trade, specifically commercial and residential building.
- MasonryEssex North Shore Agricultural and Technical School, a vocational school serving 17 communities on the North Shore, boasts a comprehensive construction program that encompasses Carpentry, Masonry, Labor, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC. What sets Essex Tech apart is its commitment to hands-on field experience. Junior and senior students not only engage in academic and shop schedules, but also work off-campus with local municipalities and nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity. On-campus, they’re currently transforming the Larkin Cottage into a 150-person event space, complete with a historical museum, service kitchen, office space, and a learning lab. Unsurprisingly, field experience is a highlight for students, offering real-world applications that count toward their shop hours and, of course, adding more fun to their curriculum.
- Electrical WorkA complex 280,000 SF infrastructure upgrade was completed to prepare for future laboratory and research tenants. Wise converted floors 4-8 from retail and office space to tenant-ready laboratories along with extensive modifications to over 70,000 SF upon the roof. Through the whole conversion we managed to enhance and expand all electrical work, elevate all plumbing systems, and reconfigure the mechanical/HVAC work using prefabricated methods. All the construction was implemented without disrupting the building’s functionality as it remained occupied. We effectively managed infrastructure challenges and executed 220 planned crane picks with seamless coordination. The end result has given the Innovation and Design Building further opportunities to innovate Boston.
