St. Stephen's strives to inspire a Lifelong Love of Learning! St. Stephen's Episcopal School is open to students of all faiths and backgrounds and encourages intellectual curiosity, guides each child to think independently, and stimulates the desire for lifelong learning. The faculty recognizes that each child is an individual and gears teaching strategies to ensure that children will experience success at their level of learning. Academics The balanced, challenging academics at St. Stephen's Episcopal School encourages intellectual curiosity, guides each child to think independently, and stimulates the desire for lifelong learning. With an over 25 year tradition of extraordinary educational experiences, St. Stephen's Episcopal School is proud to provide a carefully planned academic program in the core subject areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, supported by varied off-campus educational experiences. Beginning in PreK, the School's approach is to make learning individualized, integrated, and experiential while affirming the School's commitment to educating the whole child. Core subjects are designed to promote mastery of essential skills and concepts. Beyond its core curriculum, St. Stephen's includes Spanish, studio art, music, technology, daily physical education, outdoor learning, and chapel services. The St. Stephen's program is enhanced by a campus that includes a fully equipped science lab, a library, Chapel, main Church, the Jack Johnson Gymnasium, three playgrounds, a playing field, a discovery garden and outdoor classroom, a nature trail and an outdoor chapel. The strong balance between academic approaches and experiential learning creates self-confident students able to solve problems and think creatively. Individualized Instruction St. Stephen's Episcopal School recognizes that each child is an individual and gears teaching strategies to ensure that children will experience success at their level of learning. St. Stephen's creates a supportive learning environment that responds to learners' needs through a variety of materials, technology, and methods, including differentiation and flexible grouping. Students are challenged to set higher goals and rise to higher achievement as their individual gifts and talents are discovered and developed. Enrichment PreK students, depending on if they are full or part-time students, have chapel, Spanish, music, studio art and physical education twice a week and spiritual formation and growth once a week. Students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade have and physical education daily, chapel four times a week, music three times a week, Spanish and studio art twice a week, and spiritual formation and growth once a week. Beginning in First Grade students have archery instruction in PE. St. Stephen's was the Texas Elementary National Archery in Schools Champion in 2014. Outdoor Education. This is a holistic and experiential approach to learning that includes various day or overnight trips, special programs brought in from outside sources, and use of resources on campus, including the discovery garden and outdoor classroom, the nature trail with labyrinth, and the native prairie preserve. STEAM. St. Stephen's has added the Arts to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics initiatives to create STEAM. This is an integrated, active, real-world problem-solving curriculum approach which encourages students to be more creative and collaborative. The iPad is a valuable tool for exploration and discovery and is used across subjects as part of the STEAM initiative. The iPad program has proven to promote collaboration and teamwork among students. Extracurricular Programs. St. Stephen's Episcopal School offers after school extracurricular courses each semester for a nominal fee. Opportunities vary each semester and have included courses such as archery, science adventures, studio art, kids in the kitchen, music, lacrosse, etc. St. Stephen's has developed a nationally recognized archery program that begins with instruction in PE class for First through Sixth Grades and is extended through extracurricular course offerings.

Located halfway between Kyle and Wimberley on FM 3237, we share our campus with St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Wimberley.

We are a member of Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools, National Association for Episcopal Schools, and the Episcopal Schools Commission of the Diocese of West Texas. St. Stephen's Episcopal School, from its PreK3 program through Sixth Grade, is accredited by the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools (SAES). This accreditation is fully recognized by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) because of the membership of SAES in the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission.
