This website needs to be updated because its false advertising due to no sporting good shop. My family and friends drove 2 hours today expecting to shop for sporting good items and what a negative surprise, NOTHING !

Quit going there. Use to love going there from painted post on nice drive. Inventory gutted. Not worth it. You stay successful the way you got successful. For ackleyses was the awesome inventory. Very few guns. Shelves half barren. Couldn't even find a slingshot ! Save your gas.

Very disappointed with our visit- and we had been looking forward to going there based on past experience. The employees were not friendly at all. Don't ask questions- it's an effort to answer them- and when answered it is insincere. The clothing prices are outrageous. Their overall stock is limited or eliminated. We will not go back again.

Second negative experience here. First time, price of gun powder went up at the register from what was marked on the can. Second time, looking to purchase retention holster for SR9C and 9mm dies. Salesman too busy at counter talking family with two state troopers. No greeting or offer of assistance for over 20 min. We had time to browse what we were interested in and then wait at the counter to be recognized. Salesman handled weapon in violation of basic safety procedures - never checked to see of it was loaded before handling it and trying it in numerous holsters. Did not have holster for it and stated "I can't help you". As far as the dies, they did have those in stock, but at the price (49.99) I can get them at a better price in a friendlier atmosphere. Sorry I made the 45 min. trip at $4/gal. gas. Apparently, my female status did not warrant assistance as others were waited on, after a fashion. Your loss Folks! I shoot different guns and reload too.

I once visited Ackleys 1-2 times a month. But in the last 2 years this place has gone down hill fast. The fishing section is the biggest joke in the county. Service at the front counter and in archery are the only decent factors. You can forget about good service in guns or clothing. I would suggest visiting other shops.

I have never had a better experience at any type of sporting goods store ever. The archery manager Bob, made sure I was buying the right bow for the right reason. I was looking at multiple bows and went with the mid-range Hoyt instead of the higher end Hoyt and Mathews. The bow fit my hunting style and he was more concerned with making the proper fit rather than the biggest sale. I will return to Ackley & Sons for all archery purchases in the future.

No sales pressure what so ever. I'm new to the archery game and brett worked with me and sold me only what i needed although i was asking do i need this or that extra item. I was so pleased at the type of service, and the prices, i received that i went back a few weeks later and bought my daughter a complete outfit. Mind you i live almost 2 hrs from the store. Was it worth the drive??? Absolutely. I've been there several times and will continue to go to a place like Ackleys.Thank You Ackleys Signed Bob Denkenberger from New York
