Tell me & I Will Listen, Show Me & I Will See, Let Experience & I Will Learn - Meditation in Motion Can Help You Relax and Find Personal Harmony

General Info

The History of Kung Fu. Asian martial artists trace their roots back 5,000 years to India and the Greek martial arts of Pankration. The armies of Alexander the Great brought this brutal art of boxing and wrestling to India in 4 BC. Dr. Hua T'o, the first doctor to use anesthesia during surgery, is credited by the Chinese as the founder of the first martial art. Around 220 AD, T'o devised a series of exercises modeled on the deer, bear, bird, tiger and monkey. T'o designed these exercises to relieve stress, tone the body and provide a means of self-defense. Students range from 4 to 87 years of age, with equal mixes of youth, adults, men and women. We offer both group and private lessons. We have taught professional athletes, blind students, individuals in wheel chairs, overweight, underweight, attention deficient disorders, and developmentally delayed individuals. Each has grown due to their involvement with our programs The Mind: A strong mind is the absolute best self-defense tool you have. And like any tool the more familiar you become with it, the more you take it out and use it, the more situations you put it in the more proficient you will become at employing it correctly and efficiently. We can train our bodies to do amazing things. So why not exercise the mind. Is it not as equally amazing to understand that single thing which made your physical skills possible? And to what then do you turn when the body aches or becomes old. Let our experience of using the great tool of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts help hone and shape your mental health into A Strong Mind and give you the edge and clarity that rightly belongs to you. We and our partners at All about Counseling are committed to this end.

We have classes in self defense, fitness, flexibility, stress management, weight management and Chi or energy development. Nutrition is vital. The fuel you choose to run your body with lays the very foundation to your overall health. Regardless of your activity level, current age and weight, your diet will catch up to you. That can be a good thing or a bad thing. Please note that when we say diet we mean your dietary habits. In simple terms -the food you eat is your diet. Most of us need to restructure the way we perceive the word diet. Consider this, The Shaolin Monks more than likely had no word for diet. They ate simple foods which were home grown and hand prepared. Their days consisted of hours of study, meditation, and rigorous physical exercise. Those ingredients alone negate the need for any "diet".
