Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa is a social welfare organization that maintains a location in Des Moines, Iowa. It provides programs in the areas of education; health, life skills and leadership development; athletics; and drug, gang and pregnancy prevention. The organization offers Money Matters, Make It Count, Power Hour and Passport to Manhood programs. It provides CareerLaunch, which is a mentoring program that includes completing Internet-based surveys, identifying training and college requirements, and obtaining financial aid for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18. The organization offers Project Learn, which includes activities, such as leisure reading, writing, homework assistance and games for the development of youths cognitive skills. It also provides SMART Girls, SMART Moves, Act SMART and Street SMART programs.
