Very good grocery store, items were properly arranged.

I'v been shopping this Safeway for over 20 years now. I survived the days of empty shelves and surly employees, henced the appellation "Soviet Safeway".



Believe it or not, since they moved local headquarters out of the area to California, this Safeway has gone from bad to worse.



The shelves are still empty more often than not, but now even the management has turned surly.



I was there, today Monday 12 Nov. 20007 and am astounded at the attitude of the manager.



I shop there 3 or 4 times a week and buy cigarettes each time. I usually take them from the office window and pay with my purchase.



All of a sudden a new manager insists on walking them to the cashier, like we are some kind of criminals.



I don't know whether he dislikes Whites, Gays, or just haveing to work for Safeway, but he definately has a wild hair stuck up his bum.



Now with all the new Groceries opening in the area - Wholefoods, Trader Joes, and a soon to be Harris Teeter - why should we continue to suffer such indignities!



As for customer service, that was lost a long time ago...
