For the boating enthusiast: Lake of the Woods offers one million acres of water, fourteen thousand islands, and sixty-five thousand miles of shoreline! The Marina, in operation since 1976, is run by Westgate Marine and offers 160 slips for seasonal docking. There are larger slips to accommodate boats up to 40 feet and 30 shore power slips with fresh water service and electric power to allow larger boats to be totally self-contained. A 1500 foot channel provides a safe outlet to the lake and protects the docked boats from wind. Lake access is by boat ramp on the premises. The Warroad Estates Marina also offers new and used boat and motor sales and service, bait, tackle, parts and accessories, snacks, and fuel. For added convenience the Marina can store your boat during the off-season. For the fishing enthusiast: One of the top sportsman's paradises in the country, Lake of the Woods offers world class fishing. Fish for trophy walleye and small-mouth bass, muskie, northern pike, sturgeon, and sauger. Fishing guides, fishing launches and charters are offered during the season. In the winter ice fishing packages and ice fishing houses are available in the winter months. For the snowmobile enthusiast: The best snowmobiling is in January and February. In the Warroad Estates Marina area you can ride 500 miles of newly built and groomed trails through the forests and the frozen lake to bars and restaurants. Many snowmobile races are held this time of year - be sure to check for dates and locations.
