      Robert S. Boretz, MD, specializes in treating disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder in all age groups. He is board-certified in hand surgery. Dr. Boretzs treats common as well as complex disorders of the upper extremity. Before he joined Summit Health, Dr. Boretz practiced privately with the Center for Orthopedic Care in Bridgewater, New Jersey. He was the Chief of Orthopedics at Robert Wood Johnson Somerset for 6 years.Dr. Boretz is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society. He has been featured in Castle Connolly Top Doctors listings. Dr. Boretz was a faculty member of the exam committee for the American Society For Surgery of the Hand.I believe its important to listen to and educate my patients. Education empowers people to make shared decisions regarding their treatment.When he is not working with his patients, Dr. Boretz enjoys spending time with his family, snowboarding, mountain biking, and golfing
