William Byrd High School is a public school serving students in grades nine through 12. The school has an enrollment of more than 1,000 students and is a part of the Roanoke County Public School District. It offers classes in business education, English, family and consumer science, fine arts, math, physical education, science, social studies, technology education and foreign languages. It has athletic teams in various sports, including basketball, wrestling, swimming, cheerleading and track and field. Its study skills programs offers classes in time management, note taking, reading, test taking skills, term papers and plagiarism, essay writing and oral presentation. The school provides several extracurricular activities to its students, such as band, yearbook, clubs, newspaper, choir and Sketches magazine. William Byrd High School is located in Vinton, Va.
