Lazarus Relief Services, Inc. is a non-profit corporation devoted to helping the working poor in the greater Parkersburg, West Virginia area, by fighting hunger and its ensuing social issues. Food Pantry and Emergency Food Assistance - The primary activity Lazarus Relief Services, Inc. is to provide a fully stocked and operating food pantry to serve the working poor in the greater Parkersburg, WV area. Our services are not limited to any specific segment of the population. If you eat, and meet our income guidelines (set at 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines), you qualify. Simple as that. Other Social Service Agencies - We aim to refer our clients to other social service agencies in the area that may be able to provide assistance. Many people are not aware of some of the assistance they may qualify for. Assistance With Applications - Our staff members are not attorneys, so they clearly can't give legal advice. However, Lazarus Relief Services, Inc. has been approved as a "Community Partner" with the WV Department of Health and Human Resources. This allows us to screen our clients and assist eligible clients to apply for the full range of benefits offered by the State of West Virginia. These benefits include: Medicaid for Children and Pregnant Women, WV CHIP, Medicare Premium Assistance, SNAP (Food Stamps), School Clothing Allowance, Low Income Energy Assistance Program, Cash Assistance, Non-Emergency Medical Transportation, and all remaining WV Healthcare programs.
