The people of Community Bible Church are warm and welcoming and the Senior Pastor, Reverend Bob DuPar, very much sets this tone by example. His teaching is insightful and engaging without ever pandering to the congregation and the worship is simple and sincere. Pastor Bob easily engages members and newcomers after the service and one does not feel like an inconvenience or interruption.
In an ironic twist, one may be apt to rediscover a love for the study of scripture after attending a service at Community Bible Church that often seems to be missing at larger Ventura churches. If your church experience has been akin to hearing the same one-note samba of pre-packaged mega-church sermons on endless repeat and if you are worn out from dancing with flashy pastors who inevitably step on your toes, you may be pleasantly surprised by the graceful lilt of DuPar's sermons. You may even regain a spring in your step!
Also, it is worth noting that Pastor Bob keeps a daily blog journaling his prayers and scriptural insights. The idea of a pastor who publicly holds himself accountable while modeling personal devotion speaks volumes to me regarding his integrity.
