Great Bike Shop

My first experience with Vancouver Cyclery goes back to 1990 when I bought my first GT bike. Great bike and great service. Always had positive experiences everytime I went back to have it serviced.

In 1995, I bought my second GT from Bob at Vancouver Cyclery once again great product, great service. No complaints.

In 1999 I purchase my first Trek mountain bike from Bob at Vancouver Cyclery. I used and abused this bike. I went to my first downhill bike race and my stem broke on my handle bars during the race. Took the bike into Bob and he immediatly replaced the stem no questions asked, no charge to me. After leaving the shop I broke my seat and once again, Bob replaced my seat no questions asked, no charge.

2009 - After 20 years of going to Vancouver Cyclery I was in the market for my first road bike. I had an opportunity to buy a really nice Specialized bike from a friend at a great price. Bob actually talked me out of buying a new Specialized bike from him and purchase the used bike because he felt it was a better deal for me. I don't know any other bike stores that would have lost a sale and advised the customer to buy a used bike. This is just another reason why I will be a lifetime customer of Bob's & Vancouver Cyclery.

Wouldn't Hesitate!!!!

Vancouver Cyclery is a class act and I wouldn't hesitate to give them my business...

I put in a special order for a Specialized Rockhopper a couple weeks ago, was told it would be about a week and I'd be set to pick it up. (This was a Thursday evening) I received a call on Tuesday afternoon that the bike was ready and I could pick it up whenever. (fast for a special order aye?) On the first ride the indicator on the shifter fell off, an issue with the shifter that SRAM took care of immediately by shipping new shifters to the shop. (not just replacement indicator windows)
Went in to get them changed (after being told I could pick it up the next day) and the guys threw them on for me while I was waiting.

Fast forward to the first sunny day since I got the bike home (about 2 weeks) on the fist ride I picked up a sliver of glass or something and lost my back tire... bummer right? I had my Mrs. ride up ahead and she caught the owner before he left, and bought me a tube. Being anxious to test out the bike after all the rain, I took off without my frame pump. The owner stuck around until I walked the bike there (about 2 miles) and even changed the tube for me at no charge. (other than the tube itself of course).

So as I sit here tired out from a long walk that took me 4x longer than to ride it, I'm just glad these guys take such good care of their customers... all the little things add up, thanks guys.

Vacouver Cyclery is to my Bike what Jesus was to Lazarus

Over a number of years, I have had only excellent experiences here. The mechanics are always helpful and friendly - they have consistently gone out of their way to try and diagnose any problems (big or small) that emerge in my bike, most recently a squeaky brake problem. They have always taken time to explain in detail what the issues were and likely costs, knowing that I am only an amateur rider on a budget. Highly recommended over any of the other bike repair places I've been to!

BEST BIKE SHOP IN THE PACIFIC NW

I have known this shop and owner Bob for many many years. I have taken my friends in and they always receive the same service: great pricing, excellent, speedy service, and no pressure sales.

the entire staff treat me like the proud, repeat customer I am and I wouldnt go elsewhere. I bought my first bike from Bob at least 7 years ago. That same bike, with cheaper components was $200 more in Portland. I have never shopped elsewhere.

My husband and I bought two new Trek bikes from Vancouver Cyclery after shopping around for quality and pricing. We looked at various brands of hybrid bikes from department stores and other cycle shops. We even looked at used bikes.

During our shopping, we stopped at Vancouver Cyclery 4-5 times to look at their hybrids. The staff there are very friendly and relaxed. We felt no pressure. They answered all of our questions, offered multiple test rides, and gave us information on where to have our hitch installed for the car.

After shopping around, we determined that for quality, pricing, and customer service Vancouver Cyclery is a good value. The owner, Bob, paid the sales tax not only for the bikes, but for the helmets and other items we purchased. Also included, is 1 year of maintenance on the bike, at no extra cost.

We couldn't be happier with our purchase, or the friendly customer service at Vancouver Cyclery.

I walked in with some skepticism based on the poor review that the Vancouver Cyclery received on Switchboard, but I walked out believing customer service is alive and well with this store. I brought in a bike for repair, which I did not purchase here, and they repaired it within about 15 minutes free of charge. Granted the problem was minor, but they didn't have to do it for free...or on the spot. The kind gesture will have me supporting this locally based business with future repairs and purchases. (Of course if they never charged for repairs they'd be out of business, so I hope I don't actually hurt their business by publicizing their good will.)
