- FlooringMake sure all wiring, plumbing, and existing infrastructure is taken into consideration before this step. Since the interior of the home will be disturbed if a new opening is needed, furniture should be moved away and proper protection is used on adjoining walls and flooring.
- Door Installation/ReplacementThere are several options when it comes to door installation: large staging doors, french doors, and single doors are just a few and should be discussed during the design phase of the project. Global Solariums uses a high-performance, low-E, dual-pane glass. The coating we use gives our windows a low-e rating, which minimizes the amount of ultraviolet and infrared light that enters through the window.
- DrywallsWhere sunrooms are essentially windows, an aluminum frame, and aluminum, vinyl or wood interior, much more materials are needed for an addition. An addition needs wood framing, plywood sheeting, building wrap, siding, drywall, roofing felt and shingles. More subcontractors are needed as well, which costs more and stretches out the amount of time needed to finish the product. Sunroom construction is a much more compact operation. There is no need for additional subcontractors as sunroom dealers act as their own construction crew.
- FramingMade from high quality aluminum or wood materials, Global Solarium, Inc., patio awnings stand up to the harshest climates. Lightweight and structurally sound, the aluminum framing offers a slim and elegant look. Wood framing brings a beauty and warmth to the structure. Both framing materials are treated, primed, finished, use only advanced coatings and sealants for long-lasting beauty and durability.

- Skylight Repair/ReplacementAdding a skylight to a home or business will bring enough natural light to brighten any room, no matter the size. Whether it’s a small opening in the bathroom, or one large enough to illuminate an entire restaurant, skylights bring light and a touch of class to almost any structure.

- SunroomsWhat better way to enjoy the sunny weather of Los Angeles than from a climate-controlled sunroom addition? Depending on where you’re located, you can take in the views of the ocean, the mountain range, the city itself, or just the blue skies all four seasons year round. Global Solarium sunrooms come in four different styles: Edwardian, Georgian, Victorian, and Lean-To. These rooms can be built with a few different materials, including wood, aluminum, or vinyl. Exotic hardwoods can be used to give your patio room a feeling of luxury while aluminum and vinyl are more cost-effective choices.

- DecksA: No, but generally you will want one. Some sunroom kits augment onto existing decks and some sunrooms have live dirt floors for planting, but in general most sunrooms do have a true foundation and are the same as any other room in the house, only with significantly more windows.
- PatiosOn the other end of the spectrum, the Lean-To Patio is the simplest type of enclosure to add to your home. That being said, Lean-To Patios are still built to blend seamlessly into your home and the straight-eave construction will add a sense of space and lightness to your home.

- Garage Door Repair/ReplacementThese doors act like small garage doors, lifting up and out of the way. These doors can be made with different materials, panels, and number of windows. Aluminum, steel, even wood can be painted or stained to match the aesthetic of your sunroom, conservatory, or solarium. Although sunrooms are designed to let the sun shine in, different styles of glass can be used for added privacy.
- SidingThe exterior siding of the existing house will also need to be removed, unless the exterior will be kept for the interior of the sunroom. For example, a homeowner may enjoy the look and feel of an industrial brick interior.
- PorchesGlobal Solariums offers many varieties of hand railings, seamlessly fitting into any style of outdoor living. Our railing systems are made with aluminum, providing a lightweight, strong, and durable safety system for stairs, porches, and decks. Aluminum does not absorb moisture, so it will not rust, warp, split, or crack, making it the perfect low-maintenance solution.

- Roof VentsAs opposed to Victorian conservatories, Edwardian conservatories have a more modern look, with square or rectangular floor plans. Global Solarium Edwardian conservatories are characterized by a high level of individual craftsmanship that cannot be duplicated by mass production. Adding proper ventilation to any conservatory is essential, our designers can incorporate a large selection of venting windows, sliding and French doors as well as roof vents and super-efficient, thermostatically-controlled fans to complement the structure and your lifestyle.
- InsulationA: Double or Triple paned windows will help increase the insulation of your sunroom, and when the sun is out the room will be quickly heated, but otherwise you will need some kind of heater, usually linking the sunroom to the rest of your internal heating system will do the trick.
