      Dr. Martin F. Guinta, Optometrist, has been serving the Utica, MI area for over 28 years. He heads a team of professionals at the Eye Care Associates of Utica at 45260 Van Dyke Ave. just north of M-59, in providing quality eye care. Dr. Guinta's expertise in eye disease prevention, lasik co-management, contact lens fitting, and examination of the eye, have set him apart as a leader in the eye care field. The Eye Care Associates of Utica have two optometrists on staff, providing primary care Optometry. The two full time opticians, maintain an onsite optical laboratory and can assist you in choosing eyewear, perform repairs and adjustments of glasses. Most medical and optical insurance plans are honored. Routine eye examinations are by appointment only. Emergency visits can be handled immediately.

      Eye Care Associates of Utica have long been an excellent source for the fitting of disposable single vision, bifocal and astigmatism contact lenses. Gas permeable contact lenses for bifocal, astigmatism and keratinous patients have been a specialty of the practice for 30 years. Dr. Guinta was one of the first Optometrists in Michigan and North America to co-manage refractive laser surgery. In 1992, Dr. Guinta embraced the evolving laser technology that was then known as PRK or Photorefractive Keratectomy by referring interested patients to Windsor, Ontario to have the procedure completed by Canadian corneal refractive surgeons. Eye Care Associates of Utica have been at the forefront of nutritional information in the treatment of eye diseases. Eye problems such as dry eye, cataracts, macular degeneration can be relieved by the use of diet counseling and supplement use. Ocular photography and analysis are used to determine the severity and depth of certain eye problems. C urrent nutritional philosophies are incorporated into a treatment plan.
