Originally founded in 1978 as M & Ko Manufacturing, GCM Holdings acquired the company in2001 to form Global Contract Manufacturing. The company is a supplier to the medical industry providing manufacturing services for imaging and oncology equipment. Other market segments include biotechnology, network and industrial markets. Since 2001, the company has gained market share in the transportation industry, including equipment for public transportation; safety and security, such as scanning and surveillance equipment; and data storage and communications. Some of the company s services include engineering services, such as mechanical process design and new product introduction services; manufacturing services, including machining, sheet metal, electrical discharge machining, water jet, grinding, brazing and ultrasonic cleaning; assembly services, including integrated assembly and infrastructure; and value-added solutions, such as turnkey manufacturing, materials management and precision machining.
