      Merle Norman, through her entrepreneurial spirit, passionate caring and creative drive, rose from humble beginnings to become an inspiration and trailblazer for other women. And it all began in her kitchen.She shared formulations she made on her stove with family and friends and received such an enthusiastic response that in 1931 she opened the first Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in Ocean Park, California.In just a few years, with Merle Normans encouragement, her top saleswomen opened Merle Norman Cosmetic Studios in Santa Barbara, San Francisco and Pasadena. Quickly expanding to 94 Studios that year the Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio system was established.Merle Norman Cosmetic Studios are the lifeblood of the company. Each is independently owned and operated by women (and men) who share a passion for inspiring people to become the best version of themselves whether through skincare, cosmetics or the many services Studios offer.Today, there are over 1100 Studios located throughout the US and Canada. Merle Normans spirit and passion to make a difference in the lives of others continues today through our products and the transformative experiences our Studios give customers every day.
