Founded in 2000, Lasertel designs and manufactures high-power semiconductor lasers for the graphics, defense, industrial, telecommunications and medical markets. Standard products include high-power semiconductor laser chips, bars and fiber-coupled packages. Lasertel is a subsidiary of Presstek, the world's largest user of high-power, fiber-coupled diode lasers. The company was founded to provide cost-effective lasers to the graphics industry. Lasertel s 75,000-square-foot facility in Tucson, Ariz., includes 10,000 square feet of clean room space, two MBE reactors and complete process equipment for semiconductor laser manufacturing.
