The only place I'll go to eat Greek. The food is great, the staff is friendly. I find myself heading over just for some rice...:)
Very nice environment with friendly service. We ordered the sampler platter, the gyro with lamb, and the pastitsio.
The Pastitsio was soo good. It had a bit of a sweet flavor which i loved.
On the sampler platter, the pita bread was very fresh. It was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The dolmades were very good . If you don't like lemon, then don't order. The gyro was also very good. The hummus was alright but it could have used a little bit more flavor. Other than that it was a good experience and i will go there again.
The atmosphere and decorations are very nice. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I had the pleasure of living for about seven years in Greece serving in the U.S. Military and enjoyed their cuisine. I know it is hard to get true Greek ingredients but they are some decent products available. I ordered the souvlaki with pita and found the meet over seasoned, significantly detracting from the meal. The tzatziki sauce was well below par...you can get better at Trader Joe's. All fairness, it is tough to get the correct type of yogurt in the U.S. for tzatziki. I have learned to drain vanilla yogurt through cheese cloth to get closer to the consistency you can find in Greece...the tzatziki at this establishment is way below par. The greek salad was another disappointment. Ken's or Kraft makes a better greek salad dressing that I tasted on this salad. Perhaps my sites were set too high since I was hoping to relive a piece of the Greece I remembered...this did ot come even close. If I ever went back to give them a second chance, I would try a gyro pita, moussaka, or pastitsio with my fingers crossed this would better.
A very nice staff and fantastically fast service. One of the best gyros in town and their other traditional Greek dishes are wonderful.
I absolutely love the Greek salads here and the lemony rice can't be beat anywhere. George is a hoot and the service has always been friendly and fast. The Greek vinaigrette dressing is the best and the Greek salad always has cukes, tomatoes, onion, pepperocini, olives and feta - it's a wonderful classic! Accompanied by pita and cool tzatziki, it makes a fabulous meal. The chicken souvlaki has a great herb rub but eating it off a skewer or trying to cut it off is a bit of a chore. The gyro meat is sliced in big circles which is disappointing to me because I love the traditional seared strips sliced off a vertical rotisserie but my boyfriend swears up and down that he loves Fronimo's gyro the best.
I feel bad writing a bad review...but honestly, we had to stop at McDonalds on the way home because the food was just bad. I love greek food and this was a real disappointment. The hummus was terrible- much worse than the pre-made grocery store versions, and the taboule was dry and bland. The pita was like oily white bread, but at least you could swallow that. My friend had a gryo and that wasn't too terrible, but the tzaziki sauce was also pretty poor. If you want to stand on line and order french fries, go here- otherwise, this is really not what you'd expect when seeking a good greek restaurant. My apologies to those who own this restaurant, but you really need some culinary lessons!
I have had Fronimo's cater several functions and they are 1) professional 2) reasonable 3) punctual 4) serve the food hot and fresh
As far as the restaurant goes, it is always clean and the staff is friendly. Nick is a hoot. Tracy, the owner, along with her husband, George, have very high standards for the quality, freshness, and temperature of their food.
GREAT COFFEE, too. Ask for an extra shot of Greek coffee. YUMMMMMMMMM
Medium Sized Place Looks Like it used to be a pizza joint. Was expecting to be seated and given a menu, insted had to satnd at a counter and order off a billboard menu like i was at mcdonalds. that any anyplace thats gonna serve wine in a nice glace shouldn't serve thier food on disposable plates. food was ok, greek dressing tasted more like vinager than a dressing. pita was greasy and salads was small (mostly lettuce with a tomato slice and a cuke slice). i'm definitely not going there again
For starters the café is extremely clean. I didn't see one crumb on the floor and the tables were spotless...bathroom was clean too! The decor is classic Greek: Grape vines and mosaic tiles. It's very spacious, very pretty. On the menu, it's a mixture of Greek and American fare. I chose the Falafel sandwich with a sideorder of Baklava. The pita bread was quite large and stuffed with falafel, tomatos, onions, lettuce and hummus...it was first-rate and the Baklava was, as it should be: sticky and sweet..heavenly!
Service was friendly and they give you plenty of napkins, that's usually a problem with many places!
Now for the prices..inexpensive! The falafel was only $4.95 and the Baklava at $1.75..
