- Primary CareRecipients over the age of 45 must submit a recent EKG, mammogram and a medical clearance letter from their primary care physician stating they are capable of carrying a pregnancy to term without compromising their health. A medical history is taken and a screening with blood testing for infectious and sexually transmitted diseases are performed on both partners. It is strongly recommended that couples consult with a clinical social worker or licensed psychologist to understand the ramifications associated with creating a child from donor egg. Donors are compensated and all of their medical, psychological, pharmaceutical and travel costs associated with their treatment are paid by the couple who receive the egg donation.
- Male InfertilityWhile a gynecologist can perform some basic testing on women, you will need to turn to a reproductive endocrinologist (a doctor specializing in infertility) or a urologist for male infertility for more thorough basic and advanced fertility tests.

- ThyroidMiscarriage can be caused by a wide range of factors including a fetus that’s not developing normally due to genetic or chromosomal abnormalities, or due to hormone issues, thyroid disease, diabetes, uterine abnormalities, infection, or physical issues in the mother. While most women who experience a miscarriage will go on to have a healthy next pregnancy, in some cases recurrent pregnancy loss (two or more consecutive miscarriages) occurs.
- UltrasoundTreatment cycles are typically started on the third day of menstruation and consist of a regimen of fertility medications to stimulate the development of multiple follicles (that contain eggs) of the ovaries. Patient usually first start birth control pills to “rest” the ovaries prior to taking stimulatory medications. Shortly thereafter, patients start taking injectable fertility medications (containing follicle stimulating hormone, FSH and/or luteinizing hormone, LH, and are subsequently closely monitored. Monitoring is accomplished by both blood work (to check hormone levels) and by ultrasound (to monitor the growth of the follicles that contain the eggs). Approximately 10-12 days of stimulatory injections are needed to achieve optimal follicular growth and development.
- ChemotherapyWomen who have undergone medical or surgical treatments (chemotherapy, radiation, or surgical removal of their ovaries) that have rendered them unable to conceive using their own eggs.
- VasectomyA complete absence of sperm in semen is called azoospermia. This may have a genetic or an obstructive cause. A vasectomy is a voluntary cause of azoospermia. In these cases, a sperm donor may need to be considered.
- Laparoscopic SurgerySurgery. In more severe situations, when medication is not enough or there are fertility problems, Dr. Levi can perform a minimally-invasive laparoscopic surgery to correct any issues like scar tissue, adhesions, or abnormalities on the fallopian tubes, uterus, and ovaries.
