McNISH GROUP In 1968, William J. McNish founded McNish Group on a unique proposition. He believed that an insurance and bonding agency would eventually find more customers if it focused on solutions, rather than sales. Bill's intuition proved to be correct. One-by-one, individuals, families and businesses were drawn to the agency that worked harder to find the right answer. Many clients never left and almost all referred McNish Group to their friends and associates. To meet their needs, McNish Group added health insurance and financial management services to its full line of commercial insurance, bonding services, personal insurance and life insurance. To better serve its clients, the Royal Oak, Michigan-based agency opened a second office in Traverse City. And, to help those companies and families whose insurance and bonding needs extended across America, it became licensed in all 50 states. The McNish Group's "solutions" approach also took it in some unusual directions. For example, the agency became one of the few to employ a full-time claims representative to help customers deal with losses. Similarly, it is one of the few to designate a full-time employee for the timely delivery of insurance certificates. For all of its growth, McNish Group remains a family owned and managed business. And, it shows in the leadership shown by the McNish family, the teamwork displayed by its employees, and the extra measure of consideration extended to every customer.
