General Info
Minister-in-training, Bonnie Clark, has been an active member of our church for several years and is now taking classes and studying to become ordained. Bonnie is a member of our Board of Trustees, leads our Unity 101 classes based on Erid Butterworth's book, "A Quest for Truth", works closely with our Youth Ministry, co-chairs our Compassionate Partner's Response (CPR) team and does a plethora of other activities behind the scenes of our church. Bonnie writes, "As I shared with you last year the Board of Trustees has embarked on a new program offered by the Association of Unity Churches entitled Enlightened Leadership. The purpose of the program is to create mission-focused enlightened leaders who model spiritual principles and core values, participate in daily spiritual practices and live, work and breathe in the moment. The interactive program consists of four webinars designed to call forth the highest level of integrity, coherence and capability within our ministry's leadership team. On Saturday, January 16th we completed our first session. Our presenter was Doug Krug, an internationally recognized expert in the field of leadership and change. Doug is the co-founder of ELSolutions and co-author of the best-selling book, Enlightened Leadership. In this session we learned the six characteristics of Enlightened Leaders-role models, visionaries, communicators, developers, in service and change agents. We were given tools to assess our current strengths and challenges along with a process for developing a self-growth plan. We all are very excited and energized about the opportunity to grow ourselves and our ministry. The Board will be using these tools individually and collectively as we integrate our learning into the plans and programs we will be launching in our new fiscal year. We look forward to sharing those plans with you at our annual meeting. Stay tuned, more to come."
