- Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet is a non-profit organization founded by a group of Toledo inhabitants in 1977. The pet care center has over 450 members with a foster home network and an animal shelter that is open to the public. Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet is a no-kill organization that helps finding permanent homes for abandoned and stray pet animals. The pet care center promotes responsible pet ownership and offers neuter and spay assistance. The animals available for adoption at the center are tested negative for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feilne leukemia (FeLV) if they are six months or older during the adoption period. Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet is based at Toledo, Ohio, and caters to Reynolds Corners neighborhood.
