I was only in town for a few hours needed my hair done. I called and they got me in. I got lost looking for the shop and ended up finding it very late. I was still able to get my hair done and done Right! Nice environment, nice

Quick and efffiecent hair braiding

I recently visited Akwaaba to get some Senegalese Twist done by Cynthia and she did a phenomenal job. This is only my second time getting this hair style done and from my first experience, I was kind of skeptical about getting them done again. The first time I got the done at a different shop and I paid the same price at Akwaaba that I did there and I could honestly say that I didn't get my money's worth. Cynthia put her heart into making sure my head was done PERFECTLY & I did not mind sitting at Akwaaba's all day to get my hair done. Cynthia to me straight up that money is hair to come by and she will make sure that I get my money's worth, and she kept her work. I tipped her extra as well because I let her chair looking like a Queen and I've received plenty of comments on my hair style and I recommended her to everyone who asked. Cynthia is on FIREE!!!!

I decided to try Senegalese Twists after severely damaging my hair relaxing it myself. My daughter visited salons in Tampa and recommended Akwaaba African Hair Braiding after meeting Cynthia. I am 57 and never had any types of braids. My hair was a 'hot mess' complete with bald spots. Cynthia was punctual and professional. She answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. My twists turned out beautifully. I will definitely continue return.

I was actually on my way to another braiding salon, but when I got to that one it was closed. so by chances I drove back down waters and saw Akwaabas African braiding, as soon as I walked in Cynthia was very nice and helpful she informed me of all thee prices and gave me her card so I could bring my mother back. it was my moms first time getting her hair braided and Cynthia was nothing but helpful. not to mention she did a wonderful job. we will definitely be back :) !

I love my hair EVERY time!! Its always flaw less and never rushed. You dont spend your entire day in the chair. Very reasonably priced and i promise you will come back again and again... I know i do!!

I love coming to akwaaba. Cynthia started doing my hair and I wont let anyone else touch it since. No one manages to get it how I like it but her. The other girls come in and they have done some amazing things to peoples hair. Very professional and great at what they do. This salon is above any expectation of any African braiding salon. Ms Cynthia knows her clients by name and have no interruptions when doing your hair. The salon has cable and offer wi-fi, it's very clean and up kept. The quality of work she does is excellent there has been so many people ask where my daughter and I had our hair done. In addition the prices are very fair.
