AWFUL! ABUSIVE! Having worked at Gallop's Family Center as an after school counselor, I would not recommend this place for any child. The environment is emotionally toxic. Students are physically and verbally abused by administrators. Several students have left after being physically abused by the administrators. Mr. Gallop, Mrs. Franklin and June all strike fear into the hearts of the children. I have seen it and you can ask the other counselors for the truth. After a long day of school, students need to relax and play but fun is not a priority here. Every day was a struggle to force many of the students to go to karate, often resulting in tears. Most of them didn't want to do karate but they were forced to. I have seen Mr. Gallop ask the children as a group if they like Karate and they all say yes in unison but when asked privately by someone they trust, they say they hate karate and they just told Gallop what he wanted to hear. For the love of your child, do not send them here. There many other after school pickup programs such as Tally Arts. I was not fired and I am not writing out of spite. I am simply writing for the love of all children and from the pain which I witnessed during my employment.

As a single mother, finding a place that is affordable and that I can depend on is important. I signed my son up at Gallop's initially for summer camp. I LOVED it! My son now goes there for after school. They have a bus pick him up directly from school. They do so much with the children and the staff are all very friendly. Extremely convenient hours, cost effective, they help the kids with homework, very organized, etc. AND... they learn self defense! They treat you like a family. I recommend them to all of my friends and will continue to do so.
