The Florida Department of Financial Services is a public agency that offers information related to consumers, insurance agents, employers and state vendors. The department also maintains a division of funeral, cemetery and consumer services that regulates cemeteries and funeral sales, establishments, directors and embalmers. The division also conducts regular audits and inspections to ensure consumer investments to be handled properly. The Florida Department of Financial Services has a consumer services division that helps individuals to make informed insurance and financial decisions through assistance and mediation with insurance agencies, financial institutions, mortgage brokerages and securities dealers. It is governed by the city of Tallahassee in Florida.
