- EndoscopyDr. Canady is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and certified by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. He has 25 years of experience in clinical surgery and medicine as well as 29 years of experimental and clinical research in plasma electrosurgery. He is an innovator and was the first to invent argon plasma coagulation for flexible endoscopy (U.S. patent no. 5,207,675). Dr. Canady is currently a Research Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (School of Engineering and Applied Sciences) at George Washington University (Washington, D.C.), where he also holds the position of Co-Director of the George Washington University/USMI Plasma Initiative Program.
- MRIDavid Hinds manages the commercialization of all USMI products. Mr. Hinds holds a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in Digital Signal Processing and Communications from Princeton University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware. He spent 5 years with GE Medical Systems (now known as GE Healthcare) working in high tech imaging modalities. His work at GE included graphical user interface design on PET and Nuclear imaging products, as well as working as the Real Time Transceiver Software Team Leader for the MRI imaging modality. Prior to joining USMI, Mr. Hinds worked 20 years at Lucent Technologies – Bell Laboratories, and AVAYA Inc, where he managed several software development projects and teams in R&D and IT most recently as the IT Director of Digital Applications.
- ChemotherapyCanady Cold Atmospheric Plasma is used ‘intraoperatively’ with the standard protocol for cancer treatment including radiation and chemotherapy.
- General SurgeryDr. Canady received his BA (German and minor in Russian languages) from Villanova University in Philadelphia, Pa. and a Doctorate of Medicine from Temple University. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC McKeesport Hospital) and his postdoctoral fellowship in Immunology and clinical fellowship in Organ Transplantation at Yale University School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital. He continued his studies as a clinical fellow and visiting surgeon in the department of Visceral and Organ Transplantation, at the Virchow Klinikum Humboldt University in Berlin.
