General Info
Established in 1927, the Tamarack Lodge Motel is among the oldest hostelries on Lake Tahoe's North Shore. Our cabins and “poker rooms” are genuinely Old Tahoe, but with good beds and thick towels. Over half of our 21 rooms have kitchens; all have microwave ovens, coffee makers, and small refrigerators. Many rooms are pet friendly. We have good free wifi, DirecTV and HBO. A bargain breakfast is available on weekends. Our large grounds are pleasant for individuals, families, and groups. Be sure to gather – and roast marshmallows – in front of our outdoor fireplace. Play horseshoes, table tennis, and badminton. Have a picnic and barbecue. Walk in our woods, and drink the water from our spring (it’s on tap in all rooms). We are at the edge of Burton Creek State Park, with its hiking, mountain biking, and Tahoe X.C. ski trails (ski-in, ski-out). We are a short walk or drive to Lake Forest, with its beaches and boat launching ramp. Tahoe City, with its numerous shops, restaurants, and recreational opportunities, is just a mile away. Downhill skiers can be at Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley, or Homewood ski areas in only 15 minutes. The bicycle path which goes along Tahoe's North and West shores, and along the Truckee River, passes immediately in front of our property. The TART bus stops at Tamarack, so does the Reno-Tahoe Airport shuttle. Our prices are fair, and we strive to serve our guests well. Some of them have been coming here for two generations. We’ve been here for four, making us the oldest continually owned family business in the area. Please give us a try.
