      Founded in 1974, Heartwood Extended Health Care is a 24-hour nursing center that provides a range of medical care services. The center serves the residents of Pierce County in Washington. It offers individual evaluation, heat treatment, and gait and ambulation retraining solutions. Heartwood Extended Health Care also provides services that include physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapies. The center assists with daily living activities. It administers several progress self-feeding programs. Heartwood Extended Health Care maintains a recreation therapy department that conducts cooking and sensory stimulation classes.
