Located in Stillwater, Okla., the Department of Human Development and Family Science offers a range of master s and doctoral degree programs for students. Its academic curriculum includes classes in a variety of topics, such as early childhood education, gerontology, and marriage and family therapy. The department s marriage and family therapy is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. The Department of Human Development and Family Science also offers courses in the areas of neurological communication disorders, developmental disabilities, aging, sociology, nutrition and health issues, and social and emotional development. The department is operated by Oklahoma State University, which also maintains various other departments.
