I'm a Vernon Customer since 1986 and this is the 4th house they have serviced. The tech on this job was Jimmy Debruyn who was outstanding. Knowledgeable, worked efficiently and was pleasant. So five full stars to Jimmy. That said, while Jimmy told me upfront it would cost $246 to install a new capacitor. That info was right on the worksheet grouped with a bunch of other tasks that I know from experience takes much longer. However, I agreed and within 15 min he had installed 2 capacitors, 1 per unit. Job well done. Shortly thereafter, I was stunned to find the same part on the internet for $30 dollars. So my parts cost $60 and the labor cost me $432. Jimmy might have been at my house for an hour for the whole routine "Silver" service, which I think I already paid for thru my plan. So, the hourly rate for Jimmy's 15 minutes of capacitor work comes to $1,728/hr. Does anyone else think this is excessive or am I just out of touch? Unbelievable. Come on John, really?

Vernon provides courteous, reliable service

I just had Vernon Heating and Air out to my home and I was really pleased with their performance. My neighbors had them at their house about a week ago to install an AC unit and they recommended them to me. I have lived in my home for going on 4 years, and sad to say have never had any HVAC company come and look at my unit. My home is 8 years old so I knew that as the years started to pile on it was probably time to get everything checked out. Our technician Mike was very courteous and respectful throughout the entire visit. He performed an inspection on our unit and did a Tune-Up for us. We were able to get a Tune-Up for $89.00 which I thought was a very good deal, considering I had waited 4 years to have anyone come out and take a look. He was able to perform everything in about an hour, which I was extremely pleased with. A tip I will mention, is after you use Vernon at the back of the receipt there is a $25.00 off coupon. My technicians, Gary and Darren were knowledgeable, extraordinarily helpful and wonderful to deal with. I normally do not like contractors or service professional in my home but the two of them were a treat both in their professional demeanor, knowledge, and ability to troubleshoot and get the job done. Thank you guys !!!

George is awesome and very thorough. Answered questions we didn't even think to ask. Highly recommended.

Asked for a second opinion on pending services with another company as I felt something was amiss. George came out, listened to the issues we had with the unit, looked over everything, and showed us some things that confirmed my suspicions. Other company had replaced evaporator coil with an incompatible part and rigged it to last for a while. Unit was burned up due to incompatibility. Other company had quoted us a price for replacement, and when asked, George did the same. He candidly told me that his company would likely be a higher price, but as it turned out, the unit a tier higher through Vernon was a few hundred cheaper. They accommodated my schedule and have taken care of us. Damn sure worth the call to have them check things out.

Tom gave us some advice about how to prolong the life of our heating/air conditioning unit. We followed up on his suggestions. We found Tom to be very cordial, professional, and efficient. He prides himself on treating his customers like family. We highly recommend him and will request him in the future.

Gary Cronin has been to our residence a number of times, and each time I have been very impressed with his remarkable technical skills. He not only knows his business, but can explain very clearly any technical issues in simple to understand English. In addition he is a pleasant individual to deal with. Vernon has taken great care of me for the last ten years. That means a lot, because my roommate and I like to keep it pretty darn cold in our condo year-round, and we need a solid AC unit to do it. Vernon has always done an excellent and expedient job fixing the problems that do arise. This time, when the compressor blew in the AC unit on a Friday afternoon in the middle of July, I didn't think we'd get any help until the next Monday, and I was wrong. Tom from Vernon came out at 9am Saturday morning and got things up and running again in a jiffy. I know that Summer is a busy time for them, and I really appreciate that Tom was able to get things fixed so quickly. He's great, Vernon's great, and having fully-functional air conditioning is great! Vernon's technicians have always been courteous and professional, and Tom was one of the finest.

Had a pool of water on my HVAC system. George came out and was very helpful. He was very personable and professional. Additionally, George spent time looking at any possible problem that could be causing my issue, showed me his concerns and explained everything. George also provided money saving/energy tips regarding running the AC in the hot summer months. I will request George on my next service call.

I have used Vernon for many years in two different homes. Last week, Mario Escobar and a new tech in training, Ronnie Smith, came out to perform my semi-annual checkup. They were on time and called ahead. They introduced themselves, put on shoe covers, and got right to work. They discovered my flu pipe cap was missing, and rain has been running into the furnace causing rust. We agreed I would get a new flu pipe cap, and they would come back to replace the rusted parts. Mario also suggested a device that would detect water on the floor and turn the system off before water could spread and ruin the surrounding carpet (which I bought). As soon as a new flu pipe cap was installed, Mario and Ronnie came back right away to finish the job starting with putting down rug protection. They walked me through all they had done, answered my questions, cleaned up my furnace room and disposed of all debris. Pleasant, polite, professional, timely, and tidy. Terrific job guys!!!
