UPDATE: The wonderfully poised and charismatic NEW property manager of The Summit, Kathy, reached out to me following my first review that is listed below. She called me the day after I wrote it and wanted to set up a time to talk about it. So I met her the following day. She couldn't of been nicer or more open for conversation. I was so impressed! Kathy went above and beyond the call of duty and resolved all the issues I had with the Summit in a single meeting. It was so refreshing. Following this meeting I had to give them 5 stars.

I was one of the first residents to live in The Summit apartments. I was really taken with them. Loved living there and didn't have a problem till I moved out. I only moved out because I was losing my roommate and couldn't afford the rent by myself. The leasing contract I signed only stated that if I broke my lease that I "may forfeit my deposit". Which I was alright with since I was going to be moving to a house with others that was cheaper. I talked to the lady in the office and she said that although it was sad I was leaving that she understood. I asked if I needed to do anything further and she said no. I just needed to write a notice. So I did. But after moving out I got a letter in the mail from a collection agency stating I owed approx 3000 dollars to them. The Summit had sent us to collections with out telling us and wrongly so. And like other reviews had stated it is impossible to get them on the phone. Nearly 2 years later I still can't get it to go away and it has come back to bite me in the butt. I just got my first nursing job at a hospital in Fort Worth and I can't get an apartment because this comes back on my report. So make sure to read the contract and don't get fooled or taken advantage of. Super frustrated and disappointed with what I originally thought was the nicest apartments in Stephenville.
