Doak Walker Care Center, founded in 1981, offers a variety of long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services to residents. It is a part of Yampa Valley Medical Center and focuses on hospice, health and personal care, and physical, psychological, spiritual and social needs. The center provides rehabilitative care for recovery from injury, surgery and illness, as well as long-term care for the elderly and chronically ill adults. Additionally, it offers 24-hour nursing care, emergency and hospital services, wellness programs, and religious and social services. It operates certified and licensed facilities for more than 55 residents and a child care center. Doak Walker Care Center is located in Steamboat Springs, Colo.
