- Dental ExaminationWe are experienced in dealing with children with anxiety and can explain treatment procedures in a positive and pleasant manner to avoid any anxious or negative feelings toward dentistry. We will record your child’s dental and medical history, complete a comprehensive examination and discuss any findings with you. We have completed over 3000 orthodontic cases and will be evaluating your child’s jaw growth and development and recommending any needed orthodontic treatment. We will also review the importance of maintaining a good dental health program with you and your child to ensure a healthy and beautiful smile for life!
- X-rays
- Oral Cancer ScreeningThank you so much for choosing us to be your dentist! After any needed emergency treatment is completed, every new patient should receive a thorough, comprehensive examination. Your initial exam will last approximately one hour. A health history evaluation, comprehensive oral exam, oral cancer screening and any necessary X-rays will be done. Children under 16 years of age will also have their teeth cleaned. For adult patients, we will determine exactly what type of teeth cleaning fits your particular needs, and then we will arrange another appointment to complete it.
- Teeth CleaningTwice a year, you should schedule a routine dental cleaning. During this visit, one of our dental hygienists will remove plaque from your teeth, especially from places where your brush can’t reach, such as underneath the gum line and in-between teeth. We will then clean your teeth and apply fluoride to help protect your teeth once you leave the office.
- Fluoride Treatment
- Dental SealantsDental Sealants. Finally, if your child’s teeth are susceptible to tooth decay, we can apply a dental sealant. This is a practically invisible layer of plastic resin that is placed on the top (chewing) surfaces of the back teeth. It’s a painless procedure that fills in the natural pits and folds of the tooth, making them much more resistant to bacterial damage.
- Space MaintainersSince primary teeth guide the permanent teeth into place, infants with missing primary teeth or infants who prematurely lose primary teeth may require a space maintainer, a device used to hold the natural space open. Without a maintainer, the teeth can tilt toward the empty space and cause permanent teeth to come in crooked. Missing teeth should always be mentioned to your family dentist. The way your child cares for his/her primary teeth plays a critical role in how he/she treats the permanent teeth. Children and adults are equally susceptible to plaque and gum problems – hence, the need for regular care and dental check-ups.
- Fillings
- Resin CompositeComposite resins come in many different shades and provide better matching of shades to the natural color of your teeth.
- Gold RestorationsA cap is the same as a crown. Both restorations are designed to restore a tooth that is severely broken, fractured or decayed by literally covering or capping the tooth. Dentists often use the term crowns. But most people call stainless steel or gold restorations crowns, and tooth-colored restorations caps.
- VeneersVeneers are thin, semi-translucent “shells” typically attached to your front teeth. Veneers are customized from porcelain material that is bonded to your teeth. Veneers are a great alternative to otherwise painful dental procedures to improve the appearance of your smile.
- CrownsSmall children are frequently more receptive to dental care in the morning, when they are rested. Children 7 years and younger who need restorative treatment (fillings, crowns, pulpotomies, etc.) will be appointed only for morning appointments because this is usually the only time children feel like letting us get the desired result.
- BridgesA fixed bridge is the most popular and consists of a filler tooth that is attached to two crowns, which fit over the existing teeth and hold the bridge in place.
- Dental BondingOften, composite bonding is used to improve the appearance of your teeth and enhance your smile. As the name indicates, composite material, either a plastic or resin, is bonded to an existing tooth. Unlike veneers or crowns, composite bonding removes little, if any, of the original tooth.

- Root Canal TreatmentExcellent job. I appreciate your professionalism, kindness, courtesy, and excellent work. I got a root canal yesterday. No pain yesterday or today. Thanks!
- DenturesA partial denture is removable, and typically consists of replacement teeth attached to gum-colored bases that are connected via metal framework. The denture is attached to natural teeth with either metal clasps or precision attachments, which are virtually invisible.
- OverdenturesImplant-Supported Overdenture.Implant-Supported Overdentures — Implants can even make dentures more comfortable, effective and healthier to wear. Traditional dentures rely on support from the gums and underlying bone. The pressure from dentures accelerates bone loss so that eventually the gum and bony ridges no longer effectively hold the dentures in place, particularly on the bottom. But, in the lower jaw, we can place two implants over which a removable denture can attach, transferring that pressure into the bone structure rather than the bone surface, and preserving the bone directly under the dentures. The stability provided by implants is also important because it prevents the tongue from easily displacing a lower denture in the normal course of eating and speaking. In the upper jaw, an implant-supported overdenture requires more than two implants because there is less bone density than in the lower jaw.
- Dental ImplantsOf all the ways modern dentistry has to replace missing teeth, dental implants are by far the best. There is no tooth-replacement option that will give you a longer-lasting result. Implants also help preserve tooth-supporting bone that naturally deteriorates when a tooth is lost.
- Oral SurgeryOrthodontic Problems. In addition to these general guidelines, there are some specific recommendations for children. The American Academy of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that your child have an orthodontic examination by age 7 — for two very good reasons. One stems from the fact that there’s a wide disparity in tooth development at that age — so it takes an expert to tell if a child may actually have an orthodontic problem, or if it’s just a normal developmental variation. By that time, an orthodontist can usually determine whether or not there will be adequate room in the mouth to accommodate the permanent teeth. The second reason for an early exam is that many conditions are far easier to treat if they’re caught at an early stage, when children’s natural growth processes are in full swing. For example, a palatal expander appliance can effectively treat a child’s crossbite (a condition where the upper teeth close inside the lower ones) because a youngster’s jaw is still growing rapidly. However, if left untreated, oral surgery could later be required to correct this serious condition. There are other problems commonly seen in childhood that may also benefit from orthodontic treatment. These include the early or late loss of baby teeth, persistent thumb sucking, tongue thrusting and mouth breathing. If you notice any of these symptoms, it may be time to visit our office. But keep in mind that early screening doesn’t mean treatment has to start right away — In fact, most kids don’t begin active orthodontic treatment until they’re 9-14 years old.
- Tooth ExtractionsTo potentially stave off this result, an extraction of one, several or all of the wisdom teeth may be advised. If that is the case, we have the equipment and training needed to perform such extractions, with an absolute minimum of discomfort. Ask our staff for more information regarding tooth extractions if you feel you may need one.
- OrthodonticsMaybe you think orthodontics is just for kids. If so, then it’s time to think again! In fact, according to the AAO, around one in five orthodontic patients today are adults. Why are more adults getting orthodontic treatment? There are plenty of reasons.
- BracesOrthodontic treatment can be successful at any age — and in older patients, compliance isn’t usually an issue. Plus, with the growing availability of clear aligners, translucent ceramic brackets, and lingual braces, it’s getting harder to tell whether or not you’re wearing orthodontic appliances. So if you worry that metal braces might clash with your professional image, be sure to ask about less-visible alternatives.
- Teeth WhiteningYour teeth will darken over time. Changes in the color of your teeth can be caused by such factors as the food and beverages consumed (like coffee, tea and soda). Other known factors for discoloration may include childhood medications or illnesses, tobacco use or improper oral hygiene. Restoring your natural white smile is a priority for our dental whitening team. We can provide a variety of options for whitening your smile.
